Chapter 209: Your Music Is Very Nice
Sea within the Sea.
Seahorse Douluo sat quietly before the Seahorse Sacred Pillar, eyes closed, surrounded by the tranquil sounds of the ocean.
"Pada~"
The next moment, a stream of green light swiftly shot across the horizon toward him. It was Mo Hui and Pidgeot.
Hearing the movement, Seahorse Douluo slowly opened his eyes and looked toward Mo Hui.
"You're here."
"I'm here," Mo Hui nodded.
Seahorse Douluo said, "I heard from Xiaobai that you effortlessly wiped out the Evil Demon Killer Whale tribe in one move—even including the 100,000-year-old Evil Demon Killer Whale King. I don't think I'm your opponent. But since this is the will of the Sea God, I still wish to fight you."
After speaking, Seahorse Douluo stood up and waved his right hand. Instantly, a golden beam of light surged into the sky.
In response, the other sacred pillars on Sea God Island also emitted golden beams. The seven golden pillars intertwined, forming a brilliant array of sacred light.
"Martial Spirit Possession!"
With a shout, Seahorse Douluo's martial spirit, a seahorse wrapped in white armor, appeared behind him. Around him hovered two yellow, two purple, and five black spirit rings.
Fully prepared, Seahorse Douluo said to Mo Hui, "Come! Show me the strength that allowed you to kill the 100,000-year Evil Demon Killer Whale King so easily!"
As he spoke, Seahorse Douluo's ninth spirit ring lit up. The seawater surrounding him began to rise, forming a massive vortex centered on his position.
Mo Hui stood calmly atop Pidgeot, watching as Seahorse Douluo prepared his ninth spirit skill, making no attempt to stop him.
Soon, Seahorse Douluo had finished gathering his energy. His fist glowed dark blue as he hurled it toward Mo Hui.
"Ninth Spirit Skill: Whirlwind Giant Wave Destruction Fist!"
A massive, dark blue fist shot forth, followed by an enormous wave vortex, crashing in Mo Hui's direction.
In response, a cyan wind domain formed around Mo Hui.
This wind domain quickly absorbed all wind-attributed energy from the surrounding environment, converting it into soul power that Mo Hui compressed spirally onto his right arm. The dense cyan energy was nearly tangible.
"Storm Fist!"
Mo Hui punched out, and a concentrated cyan fist—solid as crystal—turned into a flash of green light, piercing directly through the massive dark blue fist and striking Seahorse Douluo.
"Bang!"
Almost instantly, Seahorse Douluo's ninth spirit skill defense was shattered. His white armor was torn apart.
"Puff~"
Seahorse Douluo spat out blood and was sent flying backward several hundred meters, carving a long trench in the forest along the shoreline.
Moments later, Seahorse Douluo emerged from the woods, his clothes torn and tattered. A red fist mark was clearly visible on his chest, and blood stained the corners of his mouth.
"Senior, have I passed?" Mo Hui asked flatly, hovering in the sky.
Seahorse Douluo looked up at him, his face bitter. Inwardly, he sighed: "So this is the genius the High Priest praises so often... what a monster. No wonder he was chosen by Lord Sea God."
"You've passed," Seahorse Douluo finally replied.
Hearing that, Mo Hui nodded, and Pidgeot turned into a green beam of light and soared toward the next Sacred Pillar Douluo.
---
At the Sea Spear Sacred Pillar.
"Bang!"
Sea Spear Douluo was struck by Air Blade Three Hundred Lilies and crashed into the Sea Spear Sacred Pillar. The shockwave stirred vast ripples across the sea.
Clutching the bloody wound on his chest, Sea Spear Douluo looked up at Mo Hui in the air and smiled bitterly. "You win."
---
At the Sea Star Sacred Pillar.
Mo Hui swept through the rain of feathers, grabbed Sea Star Douluo by the throat with one hand, and lifted him before the Sea Star Sacred Pillar.
"I've passed?" he asked flatly.
"Cough… cough… passed… passed…"
Sea Star Douluo coughed out a reply.
---
At the Sea Witch Sacred Pillar.
Sea Lady Douluo looked at Mo Hui with a flicker of fear in her eyes.
"I can see your thoughts," she said. "You plan to use your speed to appear before me instantly and punch me into the sacred pillar, right?"
Mo Hui was surprised for a moment, then nodded. "You're right. So, can you block it?"
Sea Lady Douluo shook her head. "You're too fast. I can't."
"In that case, do you want to admit defeat?" Mo Hui asked.
"No."
She shook her head again, then said firmly, "You could pass using that method, and I can't stop you—but you wouldn't have earned my acknowledgment."
Mo Hui said nothing and simply waited quietly for her to continue.
"I may not be as strong as you," she said, "but I have something I'm proud of."
With that, a black flute appeared in Sea Lady Douluo's hands. Turning around, she brought it to her lips.
"Please listen to my Sea-Calming Divine Song."
In the next moment, her body transformed into her martial spirit form, and waves of black sound rippled outward from her, toward Mo Hui.
Mo Hui folded his arms and fused the Delta Airflow Domain into his body, silently watching her performance.
The Sea-Calming Divine Song, her ninth spirit skill, had proven its extraordinary power many times before.
Its effect: to assault the target's mind, causing them to lose the will to resist—and, gradually, die within the hauntingly beautiful melody.
However, for those with enough mental strength and willpower, such attacks were more of a trial than a threat. That was the main reason Mo Hui was willing to linger and listen.
"I can handle this level of attack," Mo Hui thought.
He withdrew the protection of the Delta Airflow, allowing a large number of spiritual attacks to flow into him.
His body began to respond with subtle transformations.
Yet, his body was far from ordinary—it had already been forged through both storm and tide. The moment the Sea-Calming Divine Song's effects entered his body, they were nearly erased by his dual traits.
The remaining mental pressure, however, continued to temper him.
Under the influence of the Divine Song, Mo Hui's storm and tide characteristics began to merge, fusing into a single unified state.
But what truly delighted Mo Hui was that Pidgeot, too, seemed affected—the soul bone on its head had undergone a mysterious transformation after hearing the Sea-Calming Divine Song.
When the performance ended, Sea Lady Douluo looked toward Mo Hui, who had his eyes closed. A glimmer of pride flickered across her face.
"Hmph! Seahorse and Sea Star called him ruthless, but in the end, he still fell to my Sea-Calming Divine Song," she thought.
But just then, Mo Hui opened his eyes.
He smiled slightly and said:
"Your music is very nice. May I hear it again?"
