It took a whopping five minutes for Virelass to heal Asher of all his injuries, and by the time he finally rose to his feet, all he saw was an amber-gold eye covered in a green sheen staring directly at him.
"Forfeit," Arianna said calmly and kindly. She no longer wore the same battle-loving grin she had displayed throughout their battle.
Asher didn't speak. His entire body throbbed with pain. He knew that he had been completely defenseless for those five minutes, and if Arianna had wanted to, she could have attacked him within that time frame. But she hadn't, as she believed he no longer had any cards left up his sleeves.
Which was a reasonable deduction. After all, even Asher himself had assumed the very same thing about her a few seconds earlier when he had asked if she had had enough.
Asher smiled as he replied, "Arianna... it seems your instincts aren't as sharp as mine."
