Forest Of Acrata...
The morning sunlight filtered into Linda's house, casting massive shadows on the forest surrounding it. The birds as usual were chirping noisily, greeting the dawn with utmost happiness. Squirrels were scurrying around,on trees and on the ground floor, looking for their daily bread.
Today is June 6,2009 and it is a Wednesday morning. The morning promising with an also promising weather.
Linda as usual,by this time of the day is in her bedroom sleeping soundly with the rise and fall of her chest. It's a miracle she wasn't snoring. Her bedroom was well illuminated by the sunlight that filtered in from the window and also a flickering fire candle on the wooden cupboard.
Linda is currently in her early fifties. Eight years has passed since she picked up the mysterious baby and the encounter with the black Raven. She is likely closing up to old age. Though, her facial features and body in whole does not portray her age.
She has little wrinkles on her face with her skin still pale white as ever. Her lips were red, but the darker form of red. Her eyes had dark bags around them making her look scary. Her hair, still black but having some traces of white strands complimented her facial features.
Despite the fact that she was closing in on old age, she still was energetic and still hasn't lost her magic and ability to chant spells. She was still the same fierce fire magic wielder and cool wind magic wielder.
Linda stirred slowly as her eyes fluttered open. She woke up from her slumber and the first thing she did was to breath a sigh. She rolled to her side and noticed that something was wrong. Someone was supposed to be beside her but that someone isn't beside her.
She immediately sat up and got out of the bed. She yawned wearily, proving that she had a good sleep and smacked her mouth continuously. After yawning and stretching a little, she decided to leave to room. With the wave of her hand, she put off the flickering flame on the candle and walked out of the bedroom.
"Lucian!!!"
Linda called out as she walked through the small passage way to the living room.
However, the supposed Lucian wasn't in the living room.
"Lucian!! I ain't playing games".
Linda said in a loud voice, trying to pass a message to the supposed Lucian.
But still, Lucian didn't come to her.
She left the living room as she headed for the kitchen. Getting to the kitchen, she saw that the kitchen was empty and there was no Lucian. She let out a frustrated sigh as she placed her hand on her hips.
"What can I do with this boy? He's so naughty, I'll spank him very soon".
Linda said to herself.
She walked out of the kitchen and headed into the living room. She reached out for the door that leads to the outside and opened it. Opening the door, the morning sunlight filtered into the living room. Linda walked outside and closed the door behind her.
"Lucian!! This isn't a hide and seek game. You better come out now before I close and open my eyes".
Linda voluntarily closes her eyes to show that she was really serious with her threat. As if on cue, a little boy strolled out from the back of the house and stood beside Linda. Linda opened her eyes and looked to her side to see the boy beaming happily at her.
The boy should be approximately eight years old. The boy is handsome, beautiful and cute beyond all standards. He had blue eyes that sparkled beautifully in the light with a white perfect set of teeth. He was considerably lean and tall, reaching past Linda's waist.
He has an ocean blue hair that reached his shoulders, only that his long ocean blue hair was tied in a ponytail with a blue band. The boy's face was beautifully carved, ranging from his cheeks to his chin then to his jaws. However, the boy wasn't that lean and still has some bodily size and weight.
"Here I am, mother".
The boy said while beaming with a heavenly smile that could make a cold person put up a smile.
Linda felt her resolve crumble in an instant. But she wasn't ready to loose to a smile from this beautiful creature standing beside her.
"How many times have I warned you not to leave the house without my consent, huh? What if you were kidnapped or something, while I'm still asleep?"
Linda asked continuously with both hands on her waist. She easily gave off the 'scolding mother' vibe. Nevertheless, the boy called Lucian wasn't ready to loose as well.
He quickly widened his smile in order to charm the lady.
"Good morning, mother. I was just at the back, picking flowers with Delia".
The beautiful boy spoke with a voice that could charm a hardened heart.
Linda felt her resolve crumble as she was about giving the boy a good scolding. But hearing such Angelic voice was beyond what she could take.
"Why?"
Linda inquired.
"Don't tell me you forgot, mother. Today's your birthday so I was picking flowers with Delia as a gift for you".
The boy's hands which was at his back stretched forward,as the boy presented a bouque of flowers tied together by a plant vine. The boy still had a smile on his face as he stretched out the bouque of flowers. The bouque of flowers were of different types of flowers but mostly roses.
Linda felt her eye twitch, but not in annoyance. A smile crept into her face as she didn't know when her little frustration was replaced with utmost happiness.
"You..got this.. for me?"
Linda asked her voice trembling yet steady with unfathomable joy.
The boy nodded earnestly, still wearing that heavenly smile. Linda stretched forth her hands and accepted the flowers. She brought them closer to her nose and had a good sniff.
"They smell nice!!"
Linda muttered, actually telling the truth.
"That's because I hand picked them myself".
Linda nodded, then took her gaze down to the boy's handsome face.
"Thanks, Lucian. Mother's happy".
"That means you won't scold me, again?"
Lucian asked, waiting for what he wanted to hear.
Linda rolled her eyes, finally agreeing.
"Okay then. For remembering my birthday and getting me flowers, I'll let your crime pass for now".
Linda said the wanted words.
"Aye!!!" Lucian shouted triumphantly. "You're the best mother ever".
He threw his arms at Linda as he went in for a hug. Linda was forced to hug him back as she bent down to hug his small statue while wearing the best smile ever. Her little wrinkles gave way as she smiled.
"And you're the sweetest son ever".
Linda muttered to the boy's hearing.
"I love you mother".
"I love you too,son".
After some moments of hugging, the two finally separate while holding heartfelt smiles. But suddenly, Linda's smile vanished. She let out a sigh.
"I better go prepare breakfast".
Linda said as she turned around and headed for the door in front of the house.
"Can I help you, mother? I'm a very good cook".
Lucian followed Linda as they both walked into the house. Linda opened the door and entered inside, followed by Lucian who closed the door.
"Nope. Since it's my birthday today, you're gonna do anything I say".
Linda headed for the kitchen.
Lucian pouted cutely, making his blue eyes squint in the process.
"But I want to help".
"Have you brushed your teeth?"
Linda asked, changing the subject as she entered the kitchen.
"Yes, I did".
"Good,go help me with sweeping the whole house and getting rid of the dry leaves around the house. Then dust the sofas, clean the cobwebs in the house, give Delia a bath and leave the rest chores for me".
Lucian pouted even more, his face turning extremely cute. But Linda didn't look back, for fear of being charmed by the beautiful creature and getting rid of all those chores she assigned to him.
"But, that's a lot of work, mother. I'm still a child, please pity me, mother".
Lucian lamented as he tugged on Linda's dress.
"You're eight years old Lucian and you're strong. No more being lazy, besides, it's my birthday today, so I play the cards". Linda said as she started rummaging the cabinet for ingredients. "Just go do those chores and I will prepare a feast for you".
"Aye!!!" Lucian jumped up excitedly while throwing his hands in the air. "I love feast and food. Mother, I'll go do them right away".
Lucian immediately left Linda and ran out of the kitchen. Guess is, to do what Linda instructed him.
Linda smiled, seeing the child's enthusiasm and happy nature. It filled her with joy and happiness. She always thank the heavens, mostly the Angel of war, anytime she remembers the day she encountered the mysterious baby in the forest. From that day, she had raised him, whether it was an Angel's order or not.
