Chapter 13 - The Hourglass Shatters

The Tockbox trembled as a new wave of temporal fractures exploded across the city, sending ripples of chaos through the fabric of time.

Juno stood at the heart of the command chamber, eyes fixed on the glowing map that tracked every fracture and anomaly.

"Whatever this is, it's getting worse," Milo said, voice tense.

Suddenly, alarms blared. A massive temporal storm was forming—centered directly above the ancient clock tower from Juno's visions.

Idris turned sharply. "That tower… it's a nexus point. The source of these fractures."

Juno's heart raced. "Then that's where we go."

At the base of the clock tower, the air shimmered with fractured seconds, and ghostly echoes of past moments flickered like broken reflections.

The team ascended cautiously, the Divider humming softly in Juno's hand.

Inside, time bent and twisted, walls folding in on themselves, memories leaking like spilled sand.

At the center, an enormous hourglass hung suspended, cracked and leaking streams of glowing sand that pulsed with raw temporal energy.

Suddenly, the Chronodebt appeared, flanked by shadowy figures the collectors of time's unpaid debts.

"You meddle where you don't belong," it intoned. "This hourglass holds the balance of your fate."

Juno stepped forward, Divider raised. "We're here to stop you from destroying everything."

A fierce battle erupted sandstorms swirling, time looping violently, and moments shattered like glass.

With every strike, the hourglass cracked further, threatening to unleash an unstoppable flood of broken time.

Juno focused, channeling the Divider's hum through her, pouring all her will into stabilizing the core.

With a blinding pulse, the hourglass shattered sending a wave of restored time washing over the city.

The Chronodebt vanished, but its chilling warning lingered.

Milo breathed heavily. "We bought some time… but at what cost?"

Juno stared into the settling sands, knowing the fight for time had only just begun.
