Chapter 7 - Zarek.

~Zarek's POV~

Just as I had imagined, the first thing Orion and I were greeted with as soon as we stepped into the so-called VIP chamber was hostility. Duke Princeton and his cohorts were already in the room, waiting for us with an ominous air surrounding them; and while the Duke sat on the high chair in the furthermost corner of the room, his minions stood guard, assessing us.

Smiling, I shared a look with Orion who immediately smiled back. I took his reaction to be his silent agreement with whatever I had to do to get us out of here, so I stepped forward, whilst taking off my coat and my million-dollar cufflinks.

"Duke… fancy meeting you here!" I greeted with a curt bow but the Duke, well aware of the fact that he'd successfully gotten into my bad books, didn't greet me back. He simply sat there without a word. Hell, he didn't even move and for a moment, I almost thought he'd died on the chair… that the fear of what was to come had finally ended him.

However, I was soon proved wrong because then he smiled at me, more like bared his teeth at me and this annoyed me immensely because he was only but a human. Half wolf, but a human all the same as he lacked what it took to shift– a wolf with a spine.

"Alpha Nightshade," he greeted back, earning himself an eye roll from me. "I wanted us to meet… privately."

The way he said the word 'Privately' coupled with how he glared at Orion when he did made my blood boil. His intentions were evident. He wanted to kill just me.

He continued; "…but since you've decided to grace my presence with your loyal Beta, then I must say, that's also fine by me." The threat was obvious in his voice and it made me ten times angrier.

I waved my hands around the room, whilst scrunching my nose at the poor excuse of security officers he had brought and barked; "Is this the peace treaty that you talked about earlier? The one you practically begged me to attend?"

"I'm afraid that it is."

"Well I doubt it… seeing as you've brought in high ranked soldiers… weapons even. And to you, this is supposed to be a chat." I pointed out.

I didn't miss the guns they all had tucked in their hilts and could even smell the knives hidden underneath their clothes. I would give it to him that he'd hired just the right men for my execution, but sadly, they would all end up going down with him by the end of the day because they've all come with the wrong weapons.

Duke Princeton smiled. I saw his eyes glint with something that bordered towards amusement before he quickly clamped down the smile on his face. He shrugged. "Well, you can call this a fair trade. I didn't want to have to kill your subjects with you."

"Way to go to be a gentleman." I responded, not once taking my eyes off him.

I could swear that he sensed the sarcasm in my words. I made sure that it dripped off each word I spoke so it would've been hard not to notice. He shrugged again but this time, he seemed not so sure anymore. I could tell that his bravado had significantly dropped.

"Now, what is this about?" I muttered softly, "Do you think this is fun? I understand that you don't care about these hobos but don't you care about yourself?"

"Oh! Spare me all that bullshit, acting like you care when I know otherwise."

"Oh no, Princeton. If there's anyone acting here then it definitely is you. I mean, I didn't have to lie to bring you here today… you did."

He didn't say a word. His jaw ticked. I saw him gesture to his soldiers. They were all humans so it would be so easy to take them down. Now, I was happy with my choice of clothes today. I had picked a black inner, a crisp black suit with matching black pants that just gave the insane idea that was about to kill and not get dirty- which was exactly what happened.

The first soldier that tried getting in my way, I stopped by pulling one of his arms out of his body.

The others stepped back when they saw this but I was not done. I was just getting started. It irritated me to no end whenever I remembered the nasty threats that the Duke had thrown at me in the past and how he'd stolen from me, and with this anger raging through my bloodstream, I continued to tear through the crowd of screaming men. Tearing them bit by bit until they were nothing more than heaps of decapitated bodies on the floor.

Orion too was busy having the best time of his life with the men, and right now, this was one of the times when I feared that he might be a little more deranged than I was. He had managed to only kill about three men but the three had ended up as a tortured mess. Badly beaten and extremely tortured before he finally decided to end their misery.

However, I, on the other hand, had just stuck my hand into one of the soldiers' chest and was about to rip out his heart when suddenly, someone pushed the door and stepped into the room. My nostrils caught her delicious scent before my eyes did and in a flash, I looked up to see that it was the Omega girl whom I had bought only a few minutes ago.

She was standing by the doorway with her daughter clutched in her arms and with a confused expression on her face. It took her a few seconds to finally register what was going on and when she did, she gasped and slapped her hands over her daughter's face to prevent the little one from seeing the bloodied mess in the room.

That small action of hers made my heart ache but in a very sweet way and in the moment, I couldn't help but admire her. The Duke and his ugly minions were long forgotten.

I also couldn't help but notice how beautifully her white dress contrasted with the massive pool of blood on the floor. It was a sight to behold. She was beautiful… ethereally so, and I already decided there and then that I liked her.

Weird right?

Without a thought, I screamed at her; "Go!"
