Chapter 2 - The Clash

[Ring, ring, ring.]

[As my alarm went off, I woke up from a beautiful dream. I had dreamed that one day I would have a harem of beautiful wives. But to make that dream come true, I need to go to the mortal world. The problem is, how can I, an apostle, enter the mortal world just like that? It's more complicated than you might think. I have to inform the gods and submit a mountain of documents just to get permission. The easiest way for a god or an apostle to enter the mortal world is by reincarnating into a mortal and temporarily abandoning their original body. Today, I've made up my mind. I'm going to the mortal world to find my wives.]

[As I freshened up, I thought about how much I would miss this room, my palace, my luxurious and comfortable bedroom, my beautiful castle, and my loyal subordinates. I would miss them all. Suddenly, my bedroom door burst open, and one of my subordinates rushed in.]

"My lord, we're… we're under attack by Lucifer's army. Our frontline failed to hold them off, and they've captured the castle. Now they're coming toward this palace to claim the throne by capturing or killing you. What should we do?"

[As I listened to him, I was shocked, since yesterday my general said that Lucifer's army would be finished tomorrow, and I checked all the data confirming it. But how could they have advanced so much and captured my protected castle?]

"Didn't General Juplayr say the demons' army would be finished by this morning? I also checked the numbers — they were outnumbered. How did they not only survive but also capture my castle?"

"They attacked at night, my lord," he said. "They came when we were sleeping and resting. Several soldiers died by morning. With so few soldiers left, we tried to stop their march, but it was futile. Our castle was taken."

[Shit. If this keeps up, my palace will fall too. And I can't reincarnate into a mortal while this war, which has been raging for ten years, is still going on. The war is closing in, and I can't let defeat happen.]

"How is the situation now?"

He replied, "My lord, your main army, which has not been engaged in this war until now, finally decided to step up because the situation became urgent. They didn't wait for your orders. They formed a strong defense formation that has been holding the enemy back so far. The good news is that the demons can't break this formation, so we are not going to be defeated. But the demons are not backing down."

[As I listened to him, suddenly I felt a killing intent and instantly reacted. From the right-side wall, a destructive magic spell was hurled at me. I dodged it, but my subordinate did not sense the danger in time and was killed. I felt sadness that someone had died right before my eyes, but I must first find out who cast that spell.]

[A figure stepped through the broken wall, and I stared in disbelief. How had he gotten this far without my knowledge? Something was wrong — deeply wrong. This wasn't just an attack — it was a calculated invasion. But before I could dwell on it, I had to confront the familiar presence now standing before me.]

"Lucifer, how did you get in here? Where are my guards? Did you abandon your army just to show up and get crushed by me?"

He responded in a deep, mocking voice, "Greetings, Apostle of Origin, Almos Gazel Solomon, ruler of the Solomhorn Domain. Do you really think your pitiful guards could stop me? I am not the one who will be crushed today. My army is currently keeping your strongest warriors occupied, which means there is no one left to protect you."

"You are underestimating the power of an apostle," I said coldly.

"No," Lucifer replied with a smirk. "You are underestimating what a powerful demon can do."

[As he spoke, he drew his sword — Tyrfing, the demonic dragon blade. It pulsed with blackish-red energy, radiating the powers of destruction and hellfire. The room trembled slightly as he pointed it toward me.]

"To think you can crush my army and kill me — how shallow your thoughts are, young demon lord. You may be powerful, but you are blinded by your pride. No matter how strong you are, you cannot defeat an apostle who wields absolute power."

[Channeling the power of origin magic, I raised my hand. Energy swirled around me as I cast one of the most forbidden spells in existence — Echo Reaper. A scythe made of pure silence formed above me, its edges glowing faintly with ethereal light. This spell doesn't just destroy the body — it cuts through a being's very existence, severing them from the timeline. Past, present, and future — erased. The world reshapes as if they never were.]

[The spectral blade swept through Lucifer's body. His form distorted, fading from reality as though being deleted. I stared cautiously, sensing the stillness that followed.]

"Fuck. It's a divers—"

[Before I could finish, a blade shot toward my back. I turned just in time, summoning my sword and clashing steel with steel.]

[Tyrfing, Lucifer's hell-forged sword, met Equala, my divine weapon. Equala shimmered in a whitish-green hue, its hilt inlaid with emeralds. As it struck Tyrfing, the blade shifted — copying the shape and power of Lucifer's weapon with perfect precision.]

"That was close," I said, locking blades with him. "So, you tricked me with your spell and survived my Echo Reaper. Impressive. You even forced me to draw my sword — something I've never done in my life."

[Lucifer's smirk faded slightly.]

"But make no mistake. It won't be enough to defeat me," I continued. "I may be inexperienced in real sword battles, but my mastery of dueling is absolute. I didn't train for war — I trained to end it in one strike."

[We stood locked together, divine and demonic energies crackling around us.]

[Our blades clashed again and again. Each impact shattered the glass windows throughout the palace — maybe even the entire domain. Lucifer was getting stronger. I could feel it.]

[Lucifer was a natural adapter in battle. The longer he fought, the more powerful he became. If I didn't end this soon, he would surpass me.]

[An hour passed. My once-pristine room was reduced to rubble. I cursed Lucifer silently for making such a mess. The battle raged on, seemingly without end. I could not cast powerful spells anymore, not without destroying the entire palace. But I made sure Lucifer couldn't use magic either by keeping him locked in constant melee combat.]

[Lucifer backed away, breathing heavily but smiling.]

"You really are strong. But this ends now. I've reached your level. You can't kill me anymore."

[He lowered his sword slightly, eyes locked on mine.]

"I have an offer for you. I know you're planning to reincarnate as a mortal. That's why I attacked today. You weren't prepared to face me. You trusted your army and subordinates to finish the war while you focused on your little reincarnation task."

[He stepped closer, continuing.]

"But your plan failed. I attacked your forces and the throne during the night. I occupied your strongest warriors and your main army so they couldn't come to your aid. Now, I stand on equal ground with you. You have no chance of winning."

[He raised his sword again.]

"However, I will show mercy. Give me your throne. I will let you reincarnate in peace. Refuse, and I will make sure you die here. No reincarnation. No revival. Only oblivion."

"Ha, ha, ha…" I laughed at his bold statement. You truly believe you've reached me? You're barely at my shadow. Think again. You've only reached the level where I'm skilled at sword fighting — but my true strength lies in magic. Thank you, Lucifer, for giving me enough time to cast my special spell for the first time. Now enough talk — "Let me demonstrate why I am feared — not just as a wielder of origin magic, but as its greatest innovator." I hereby summon Infinite Pillars!"

(Huh?! What happened? Why didn't it work?)

Lucifer smiled and said, "You must be wondering why your magic didn't work. It's because I sealed it with my magic."

"You what?! How can this be?"

Lucifer declared, "It's my magic — Pride. Your pride was so strong, it gave me the power to lock away your magic. By combining it with Hell Chains, I sealed your origin magic and copied it. Now I can use your magic while you can't. Muhahaha!"

[Lucifer knew he couldn't seal my magic while I was fully alert—he had to keep me locked in close combat, or else I'd never let him get near. I feel stupid to figuring this out now.]

"Don't worry, my lord, I've come to your rescue and assistance!"

[Shockingly, my general came from the doorway to my rescue, and he stood beside me, ready to challenge Lucifer — the king of hell and one of the demon lords of the underworld.]

General Juplayr then said to me, "We've dealt with the demon army. They've completely retreated. Because of that, I got the time to help you. Others should be coming here soon."

"Great job, General. Now it's time to finish this battle — and the war. General, cover me while I engage with him."

[As I charged at Lucifer, weiding my sword, Equala, I was pierced through my chest from behind. This…This sword…]

"General Juplayr, why? Why did you do this? For what reason?"

He replied by saying, "My lord, Demon lord, Lucifer, promised me a bigger post and fortune so I am sorry."

[General Juplayr sword is a special sword which can kill gods, named Excalibur. As the Excalibur sword was removed from my body, I fell down and lay on the ground bleedingly. Now, I know how Lucifer gets into the palace and…yes it now it makes perfect sense.]

"You know, Lucifer, you managed to trick my general and my army but know that I have one last sleeve."

[This might hurt me a lot. I use my last remaining power of origin magic which I stored in case I run out of power, to forcefully change my existence as a whole into a mortal man. I am going to reincarnate but it is forceful so it is hurting alot, Ah!!! I used my last remaining power to kill myself and awaken with a different power since my origin magic is sealed.]

As Almos passed away, Juplayr said, "Did he…did he kill himself?"

"Yes, now he can reincarnate but don't worry, what can a mortal man do to us and he killed himself forcefully so it will take him around 500 years at minimum to reincarnate. We will have a large army by that time which he can't challenge."

[Some time later]

[As victory celebration goes on, Lucifer sits at Solomhorn Domain throne in the well protected castle by demon army and former apostle army. He was crowned and he smirked and said that was easy. I should have done this in the beginning.]

[This is how the 10 years war ends, with the Apostle of Origin falling to Lucifer becoming king of hell and Solomhorn Domain. Now he is a big shot in the underworld, due to the fact he killed a powerful apostle alone. Yes, the truth is different from this but who saw this except for Juplayr. However, Lucifer's good time ended one day.]
