Chapter 386 - Sixth Singularity, Hardcore Mode

[Please select two to five entries to construct your character card for this instance. The entries you choose will have a chance to be drawn after successfully clearing the simulated mission.]

[Based on the player's previous performance, new entries have been detected. Please confirm.]

Okay, here we go again—Guinevere's favorite time of building his character card.

Seeing this, Guinevere perked up and quickly opened the entry interface, flipping through the entries obtained from the last simulation:

[Slacker (N): As the saying goes, good positioning is better than good fighting. Your teammates are so powerful that even if you do nothing, they can carry you to victory.]

[All your combat stats decrease, while all your teammates' combat stats increase.]

[(Acquisition Condition: Clear a battle event without doing anything.)]

This first entry made Guinevere lose his composure.

Thinking about it carefully, this entry probably came from him doing almost nothing during the early stages of the last simulation, being carried by Artoria and the others as they dominated the battlefield… But come on, wasn't it his hard work shielding the team for so long that allowed them to grow this strong? How did that make him a slacker?

Even if he is slacking, it's with skill!

Guinevere continued flipping through:

[Trial Survivor (R): You have passed the trials left by your predecessors and gained much from them.]

[Your endurance increases by one level.]

[(Acquisition Condition: Clear the shadow Uther and shadow trial through direct combat in the simulation.)]

[Martial Arts Prodigy (SR): You are a once-in-a-million martial arts prodigy. Give you a manual, and you can master the Tathagata Divine Palm.]

[Your combat stat growth rate increases, and you have a chance to directly comprehend skills from your enemies or teammates after battle.]

[(Acquisition Condition: Defeat a Servant in a one-on-one battle right at the start of the simulation.)]

[Guardian (SR): You are as solid as the hardest rock. With your protection, danger will not approach those behind you.]

[Your endurance and strength increase by one level. You gain a taunt passive, causing enemies to prioritize attacking you. When fighting to protect non-combat units, the bonus doubles.]

[(Acquisition Condition: Survive for more than three days in a siege battle where enemy and ally forces are severely imbalanced.)]

[True Hero (SSR): Your heart is strong, your spirit incredibly resilient. Even if your life is full of hardships, you still face them head-on and, with passion, create miracles and achieve the impossible. Fate did not choose you to be a hero—you chose the fate of becoming one.]

[Immune to mental attacks. Fate, for you, is not unchangeable; you can forcibly raise the probability of an impossible event from zero to one percent.]

[(Acquisition Condition: Defeat Cernunnos when the Sword of Salvation has not yet been forged.)]

[Final Dragon Knight (SSR): You are the legendary hero followed by a mighty dragon who, for some reason, chooses to assist you in defeating disasters and saving the world when it faces catastrophe.]

[You gain Dragon Affinity. All your stats increase. You gain Anti-Human Threat Special Attack, greatly increasing resistance to all skills of Human Threat units. When facing Human Threat enemies, the bonus doubles.]

[(Acquisition Condition: This entry is exclusive to the legendary Servant card "Final Dragon Knight Guinevere.")]

After reading through the entries given this time, Guinevere nodded in satisfaction.

Probably because, in this simulation, his actions leaned more toward passive protection rather than seeking out fights everywhere like last time, the entries were far less bloodthirsty. But their effects were still outstanding.

As for selection, Guinevere had no hesitation. Based on his past combat experience, "Final Dragon Knight" was a no-brainer. With it, he could likely enter the next simulation directly as the Servant "Final Dragon Knight" and simply go full-on rampage mode.

With that thought, Guinevere flipped through his available entries:

[Available Entries:]

Unbound: [Stubborn (N)], [Hunter (N)], [Escapist (R)], [Beloved (R)], [Trial Survivor (R)], [Great Luck (SR)], [Martial Arts Prodigy (SR)], [Guardian (SR)], [True Hero (SSR)], [Final Dragon Knight (SSR)]

Locked: [Blacksmith (N)], [Lone Fighter (R)], [Gladiator (R)], [Strategist (SR)], [Born King (SR)], [Bloodstained Butcher (SR)], [Heaven's Chosen (SR)], [Berserker of the Frontline (SR)], [Battle Maniac (SR)], [Dragonslayer (SR)], [Hunter's Insignia (SSR)], [Blessing of the Holy Sword (SSR)], [King of the Northern Lands (SSR)]

[Due to the survival of Alternate Holy Sword User Guinevere, the entries "Strategist," "Born King," and "Blessing of the Holy Sword" are currently bound to him and unavailable.]

[Due to the survival of Henry Jekyll, the entries "Blacksmith," "Lone Fighter," "Bloodstained Butcher," "Heaven's Chosen," and "Blood Crown" are bound to him and unavailable.]

[Due to the survival of Alternate Northern King Guinevere, the entries "Gladiator," "Berserker of the Frontline," "Battle Maniac," "Dragonslayer," and "King of the Northern Lands" are bound to him and unavailable.]

Not a hard choice. He quickly decided to lock in [Trial Survivor], [Martial Arts Prodigy], [Guardian], [True Hero], and [Final Dragon Knight]—all powerful and stylish.

But before he could finish, the system suddenly popped up a new line of text:

[Additionally, since the player has unlocked the Destiny Holder skill, FATE/ Destiny Simulation will now enable Extra Difficulty—Hardcore Mode.]

[If the player chooses not to select any entries, they will enter the simulation with their current stats and will be able to use all abilities they possess in reality.]

[In Hardcore Mode, if the player completes tasks related to awakening the Destiny Holder skill, the skill will also awaken in reality.]

[Furthermore, upon completing the simulation, all currently unlocked entries will be included in the prize pool.]

"Oh? There's such an option?"

After reading the introduction to Hardcore Mode, Guinevere's eyes lit up.

Originally, the awakening tasks for his Destiny Holder skill seemed to require completion in reality, which was not only insanely difficult but also nearly impossible to find the right enemies for in Fairy Britain… But this Hardcore Mode perfectly solved his problem.

After all, this simulation was full of opponents with the "King" and "God" traits, with the final boss, Goddess Lond Minia, even possessing "Dragon," "God," and "King" traits simultaneously. Perfect for task completion!

Although entering without a Servant vessel would make things harder… after so many simulations and improvements, could he really not clear a mere Sixth Singularity? Not to mention, he'd likely have a large team this time.

[Would you like to participate in this FATE/ Destiny Simulation in Hardcore Mode?]

"Yes!"

Without hesitation, Guinevere pressed the button.

Hardcore? High difficulty? Perfect—he loved hardcore games.

Big rewards! Boss annihilation!

Kill!!!

[Confirmed Hardcore Mode. Loading…]

[Confirming teammate roster… Confirmed.]

[Since more than five players are participating, Raid Mode has been automatically enabled. All participants and helpers will be assigned to the same team:]

[Confirming your team…]

[Teammates Confirmed: Artoria, Barghest, Noknare, Barguest, Melusine, Gareth, Morgan.]

(Entering Sixth Singularity – Sacred Round Table Domain: Camelot)

Wait? Who?

Seeing the final name, Guinevere's body trembled violently.

Just now—didn't he see a rather shocking name flash by?

But before he could think further, the system engulfed his vision in darkness.

In a boundless desert, a violent wind suddenly howled, lifting endless yellow sand into the air, blotting out the sky.

The sun was obscured by the dust. Each grain of sand, carried by the wind, scraped against the next with a shrill whistle, as the desert stretched endlessly toward the horizon.

Wherever the woman looked, the same scene greeted her. The sand lashed against her face, making her raise her hands to protect it—after all, her beautiful face was a human treasure, and letting it be ruined by sand would be a waste.

Soon, unable to endure it, she loudly complained:

"How could this possibly be Jerusalem? All I see are sandstorms!"

"Exactly! Aren't you the genius Da Vinci? Come on, think of something!" shouted a petite girl behind her, her twin ponytails whipping wildly in the wind like whips.

"I'm a genius, not a wishing machine! And we just got here—don't expect miracles so soon!" Da Vinci protested.

"Senpai! Da Vinci-chan! We need to hide behind some rocks! Another gust is coming!"

Nearby, Mash scanned the environment and quickly warned.

"This way, this way," Fujimaru Ritsuka pointed to the massive bones of an unknown creature, "These bones are huge; they should shield us from the sand for a bit!"

"Wow! This thing was massive—must be a dragon species, right? Figures this Singularity, with its EX Human Order Foundation value, would casually have dragon species lying around!"

As they hurried toward the skeleton, they suddenly noticed a figure already there.

"Huh? Someone's here? A traveler, maybe?"

"No! Wait, this person's unconscious! He's almost buried in sand—help me clear it before he suffocates!"

Mash rushed over, hurriedly brushing the sand from the stranger's face. But once the face was revealed, she froze as if struck by lightning.

"What is it, Mash? Is he dead?" Ritsuka, noticing her reaction, quickly asked.

"No—it's not that…" Mash stammered, pointing at the man's face. "Senpai, look for yourself!"

Ritsuka leaned closer, and her expression immediately changed:

"Eh? Isn't this… Sir Guinevere?!"
