One could only say, indeed.
Legends truly never die, but the protagonist of a legend might not be able to save his own Gil.
It was hard to describe what Guinevere felt upon seeing this, her brows furrowed as she continued reading:
[Due to the passage of so much time, the details of your deeds could not be fully preserved. Many events have been confused with those of your companions, and moreover, the ancient writer Bavanzi had deliberate inclinations when writing your biography. As a result, your legendary deeds were embellished in later legends.]
[Legendary Event: "Child of Prophecy": Since Artoria ultimately did not fulfill the mission of the Child of Prophecy, and her own renown was mediocre, in later legends, your deeds and hers were conflated. You were regarded as the true Child of Prophecy, the destined hero, while Artoria became a mage mastering cloning techniques, joining your party as a guiding mage.]
"Fuck."
Honestly, this very first legendary event made Guinevere lose her composure.
One could only say, legends are unreliable—they just stripped Artoria of her identity as the Child of Prophecy… truly wild and historical at the same time. And why turn Artoria into Merlin?
Guinevere recalled Artoria's performance in the simulation… well, for instance—using clones to fight while the main body did not even step in, or pulling out strange magical items at critical moments…
Not often, but it did have a touch of Merlin, didn't it?
If that's the case, Guinevere could understand why ancient stories insisted all prophecies would come true. The Child of Prophecy would always achieve greatness… quite reasonable. If you failed, later storytellers would simply replace the Child of Prophecy with the one who succeeded.
[Legendary Event: "Fame of the Round Table Army": When you first emerged, you displayed talents far beyond ordinary humans. You challenged the strongest human of pre-Britannia, the leader of the Round Table Army, Percival, and fought to a draw, gaining fame in a single battle. However, due to later generations' tendency to "deify" figures in story transmission, many versions depict you easily defeating Percival, becoming the strongest human warrior of the time.]
"…Deifying people, huh."
Guinevere shook her head in helplessness.
People always seemed eager to place someone on a pedestal. Even if that wasn't their rightful position, in the eyes of those who deified, they must be invincible, a force crushing all… Sounds a lot like my own fanbase exaggerating my power.
[In the legend, you disdain using your opponent's carelessness or small tricks to win. You even warned them beforehand that you were not an opponent to be taken lightly, forcing them to prepare fully. As a result, in some story versions, you became a rigid, overly chivalrous character, targeted by some later writers.]
"Damn, I've become the ahoge king of Fate."
Guinevere patted her head.
Yet despite this, she felt no annoyance, only a flicker of excitement.
Because this legendary event was the first she had truly accomplished not in simulation, but in reality. Could it be that my legend is finally starting to take shape?
[Legendary Event: "Chaos at the Auction" (also known as "Dragon's Trial" and "Choosing the Holy Sword"): In your legend, this event marked the beginning of your bond with the Dragon Fairy. At the auction, you and the Dragon Fairy fought over the same treasure. Neither of you won, and in the end, it was your party's mage who intervened.]
[The item you both contested remains debated in later generations, with many versions. The most accepted mainstream version states that you fought for the "Flame Holy Sword," guarded by the Dragon Fairy, said to grant immense power to its wielder. The Dragon Fairy had only brought it to the auction by chance.]
[After the battle, you became acquainted with the Dragon Fairy. You decided to yield the item to her, gaining her friendship. Yet in the mainstream version, the Flame Holy Sword chose you as its master. The Dragon Fairy acknowledged your strength and virtue, entrusting the sword to you to undertake the task of salvation.]
Guinevere felt completely bewildered.
Wait… what? This doesn't even make sense anymore.
Was this still her story? Flame Holy Sword? Dragon's Trial? Choosing the Holy Sword? It all felt like a Japanese-style light RPG plot.
And didn't she go to the auction to save Artoria? She thought she was just helping Artoria escape, yet in the legend, it was reversed—Archmage Artoria used clone magic to separate her and Lancelot during the battle? What the hell… I really can't picture that.
And the sword… she hadn't even had a sword! Her struggle was to prove she could combat disasters without it… yet later storytellers gave her a Holy Sword.
She could only shrug:
"Man, what can I say?"
[Legendary Event: "Assault on Prison Island": During your journey, to rescue the Black Dog Knight Bagster, cursed and feared by the world, unjustly imprisoned on Prison Island, you stormed the heavily guarded island with your companions, rescuing Bagster and gaining his loyalty. During this, you also rescued the defeated and captured Fairy Princess Noknare, winning her heart.]
The Black Dog Knight, the defeated Fairy Princess Noknare… Guinevere couldn't even rant anymore. Noknare would be furious if she saw this!
[Legendary Event: "Orkney Trial": To fulfill your mission as the Child of Prophecy, you ventured to the Edge of the World, facing the trial of the previous Child of Prophecy, the strongest knight Yuser. You barely defeated Yuser, truly unleashing the power of the Holy Sword, and secured the Dragon Fairy's approval, forming an eternal contract with her.]
[Legendary Event: "Norwich Demon Slaying": After returning from Orkney, otherworldly demons who had long coveted Britain began their invasion. First appeared one of the Demon King Army's Four Heavenly Kings, the Great Demon "Hand of Calamity," who destroyed Norwich. In rage, you went there and slew it with the Flame Sword.]
[Legendary Event: "Unification of Britain": After defeating the Hand of Calamity, Woodworth, chieftain of the Fang Clan, attempted to seize the British throne from your exhausted party, but was blocked by your contracted partner, the Dragon Fairy. Then, you helped the northern Fairy Princess Noknare defeat Woodworth, unifying Britain, and were chosen by Noknare, soon to be Fairy Queen, as her consort, becoming the ruler of Britain.]
[Legendary Event: "Shield of Camelot": After unifying Britain, the demon army finally arrived, capable of turning British citizens into demons. Britain was cornered. You discovered the demons came from the Great Void by Camelot, so you became the shield of Camelot, the last safe haven for its people.]
[Legendary Event: "Endtime Dragon Knight": When all of Britain was on the brink of destruction by the otherworldly demons, the Demon King emerged from the Great Void, attempting to annihilate Camelot and the remaining people. In this desperate moment, as all seemed doomed, you rode your dragon for a final charge, burning yourself to unleash the full power of the Flame Holy Sword, ultimately slaying the Demon King and saving Britain.]
[After slaying the Demon King, you did not return to Britain to enjoy your hero's applause. Instead, you soared into the sky on your dragon and vanished. Some say you exhausted your life in battle, choosing to touch the sky at the end. Others say you completed your mission as the Child of Prophecy, quietly withdrawing, leaving your deeds unsung. Another account claims the final Demon King was merely one of the Four Heavenly Kings; Bagster and the Dragon Fairy were also among them, converted by your noble will to serve you. Beyond the Four Kings, you journeyed to the sky's end to confront the true Demon King, fighting endlessly for millennia.]
[In later generations, when historical verification is impossible, your story circulated as a mix of truth and legend. This epic tale shows the grandeur of your life. Archmage Artoria, Silent Knight Bagster, Fairy Princess Noknare, Dragon Fairy Meluzina, and bard Bavanzi all held pivotal roles, and your romance with them is much celebrated.]
Notably, in the eyes of future generations, the Dragon Fairy accompanying you at life's end to understand the world and fly across the sky is believed to be your dearest companion. Hence, your most famous title became "Endtime Dragon Knight."
One could only say, this unofficial history is real… wild yet historical. Guinevere didn't know how to react.
The legendary events introduced all kinds of characters: previous Child of Prophecy Yuser, otherworldly demons, Four Heavenly Kings, the true Demon King at the end of time, and her favorite companion, Meluzina… Guinevere couldn't comprehend it all, yet was deeply moved.
These events couldn't be said to be completely unrelated to reality; only the names remained intact.
Finally, the evaluation of Guinevere's simulation appeared:
[Your life simulation evaluation: "Endtime Dragon Knight"]
[Your life simulation score: 95 points (Legend)]
[Due to exaggerations and artistic embellishments, your story in later generations elevated you as the symbol of "Hero," "Brave One," "Savior." Your fame, legacy, and renown far surpassed any human or fairy in British history. Therefore, your character gains an extra 4 points, final score 99.]
[Your character will be added to the Heroic Spirit Simulator. "Endtime Dragon Knight Guinevere" will enter the public card pool, available to all participants.]
"…I get it now," Guinevere slapped her head.
She finally understood the scoring system. It's not about power, virtue, or deeds—it's purely about legacy and popularity. True Heroic Spirit mechanics.
She pondered.
Now that she understood the scoring criteria, she could leverage it in future simulations to gain more rewards.
Just as she thought this, several lines of subtitles suddenly appeared:
[Detected that the player has defeated the regular simulation final boss of "Life Simulator: Fairy Britain 0.2 Beta"]
["Cursed Calamity Cornunos"]
[Dear players, congratulations! You have fully completed the beta version mainline. Extra rewards will be issued shortly.]
[However, happy days are always short. Once the main content is fully completed, the "regular simulation" mode will close. Thank you for accompanying us so far. We will release a new version later, aiming to offer an even better experience.]
[Life is a dream—may we all shine.]
