Chapter 358 - Why Is It Like This?

"Did you all hear what they said just now?"

After secretly leaving Lancelot's room, the few who had been eavesdropping gathered at a distance, lowering their voices to discuss what they had just overheard.

"I heard it... but why do I feel like it's all so fantastical?" Artoria frowned. "Guinevere has been to Britain before? And he was in a relationship with Lancelot... and even with the Savior Shan? Am I dreaming... ow!"

She quickly covered her mouth, fearing the sound would be heard by Lancelot inside.

However, her worries were unnecessary. Lancelot, utterly defeated, sat on the floor, her eyes blank, overwhelmed by the immense shock. She was so out of it that she didn't notice the noise outside.

Seeing her unresponsive state, Artoria sighed in relief, then turned sharply to glare at Nocknare.

"Why are you pinching me?"

"Ugh... I was also wondering if I'm dreaming, but seeing how pained you look, I guess it's not a dream." Nocknare nodded, her face expressionless.

"You..." Artoria bared her teeth, about to pinch back, but Nocknare stopped her.

"If you want to fight, we can do that later. Let me ask you something first. Don't you have Fairy Eyes? What Lancelot said earlier—how true is it?"

"Well..." Artoria paused to recall Lancelot's words, then answered, "Half true, half false. Most of it is nonsense."

"Oh, I see... you gave me quite a scare there..." Nocknare patted her chest, relieved.

If what Lancelot said were true, then Guinevere was the reincarnation of that Yousser, and Yousser happened to be the one her predecessor, Mab, was in love with... Does that mean she and her predecessor both fell for the same person?

"To be honest, what you're worried about seems to be true," Artoria quickly added, sensing Nocknare's unease. "Guinevere really was Yousser in his past life, and he really did love Yousser, which is why he's been unknowingly fighting against us."

"Ah?" Nocknare was stunned. "So what part is fake?"

"The part about her being Guinevere's lover, and Shan showing up later and sneaking in..."

Nocknare fell silent.

Should she say that Mab and she had similar taste in men? They both ended up liking the same person?

In the fairy society of Britain, relationships between previous and current generations often resembled those between parents and children—slightly different, but not by much. It was no wonder Nocknare felt so uneasy.

While Nocknare was lost in thought, her peripheral vision caught a glimpse of Bavanzi, who had been silent, seemingly deep in thought.

"Sigh... this is hard to wrap my head around. Bavanzi, what do you think?"

"Huh?" Bavanzi, startled by Nocknare's emotionally charged voice, looked up in confusion. "What's going on?"

"Guinevere... no, Yousser and Shan were once lovers!" Nocknare gestured excitedly. "You should know this, right? Shan was actually Morgan's name 2,000 years ago!"

"I know?" Bavanzi blinked in confusion. "So?"

"Which means, in a way, Guinevere... he's kind of your mother's... ex-boyfriend?" Nocknare hesitated, her face flushing. "Don't you think that's... awkward?"

Unfortunately, Bavanzi still seemed not to fully understand what Nocknare was implying, tilting her head in confusion.

"Why would that be awkward?"

"Well..." Nocknare stumbled to explain, now blushing even more, "If Morgan ever comes back, she might try to compete with you for Guinevere. She might even want Guinevere to be her husband... Are you okay with that?"

Finally, after much effort, Nocknare managed to speak, though her face was as red as a tomato.

"Well, isn't that a good thing?" Bavanzi blinked, then pondered deeply, her face lighting up with a slightly expectant expression. "I was a little worried my mother wouldn't accept Guinevere, but now I don't have to worry! I can wait for Mother to marry Guinevere first, then I'll marry him too. That way, we'll all be one big family!"

"My beloved mother and my favorite Guinevere, both together—two joyous things combined! Isn't that wonderful? Just thinking about it makes me so happy!"

"Uh?"

After hearing this, not just Nocknare, but everyone else present was frozen, utterly speechless.

A single thought echoed in everyone's minds:

What in the world is going on with her views on love and relationships?

"…Let's change the subject,"

At this moment, the usually quiet Bagster suddenly spoke up:

"Guinevere said he would break the cup as a signal, then we would take out Lancelot together, right? But now Guinevere's gone, and he didn't break the cup, so should we go ahead and attack tonight or not?"

"No need," a voice suddenly came from behind them. Everyone turned in shock to see Guinevere standing there.

"Guinevere? When did you get here?" Nocknare asked, her eye twitching. "Did you hear everything we were talking about just now?"

"What?" Guinevere furrowed his brow. "I've been looking for you all for a while now. Is there something I wasn't supposed to hear?"

"Ah, hahahaha... how could that be?" Artoria laughed awkwardly. "So, uh, what should we do about Lancelot?"
