Chapter 30: Fate Intertwines

The giant ape crashes into the hillside, bones shattering beneath its massive frame. Blood pools into the earth, steaming as it seeps into the roots.

Atop its skull stands Liu Guan Yi, black robes fluttering like a death flag in the mountain breeze. His blade drips crimson, but his eyes remain calm—cold, detached.

With one final stroke, he severs the beast's core.

Behind him, villagers erupt into cheers. The demonic threat that haunted them for weeks lies dead.

Liu Guan Yi doesn't stay to bask in their gratitude.

> "This wasn't a mission," he mutters, turning away.

"It was a warm-up."

On the Way Back

With the beast core handed over and his mission token marked, Liu Guan Yi soars toward the Heavenly Sword Sect atop his silent flying sword.

He takes a lesser-used route, veering over misty valleys and winding forest paths. His thoughts drift—toward the Sword Shadows, toward Ji Ning, toward the pieces still moving in silence.

But suddenly—

> [System Notification: Chosen One Detected]

His eyes snap open. The sword slows.

He looks down.

A small village nestled in the hills lies below… and through the sky streak two figures atop a flying sword—one a red-haired boy, the other a white-robed girl, both barely more than teenagers. They fly fast, erratic—fleeing.

Behind them, a Rank 5 cultivator gives furious chase, his aura sharp and murderous. An old man, but not frail—his robes bear the crest of a minor clan.

> "A old man ... trying to kill them?"

Liu Guan Yi hovers mid-air, watching, calculating.

> [Name: Zhou Fang]

[Luck: Golden Halo]

[Talent: B Grade]

[Status: Special Fate Carrier]

He narrows his eyes.

> "Zhou Fang…"

"So it begins."

He doesn't unsheathe his sword.

He doesn't interfere.

He simply watches—like a spider sensing the tremble of a new thread in its web.

> "Another piece falls into place."
