Chapter 278 - Chapter 278: Legends Take Action, Cross Guild Disbands

The complete fall of the first half was something they hadn't anticipated, especially Ryokugyu's death.

"These remaining marines may be facing their final battlefield," Garp said.

"We old men should move a little too." Sengoku rolled up his sleeves.

"At your age, you still want to fight?" Vice Admiral Tsuru asked.

"If we don't fight, we'll regret it. At least if we try, we'll have given it our all. Besides, we're already old and don't have much time left. Might as well have a proper battle, just like in the old days." Sengoku laughed.

"That doesn't sound like you at all, Sengoku." Garp chuckled.

"And you don't sound like yourself anymore either." Sengoku grinned.

"Bwahaha! Then I'll join you. Let's fight together one more time!" Garp roared with laughter.

"Men… I'll never understand. Even at your age, you're still like this," Tsuru said helplessly.

The battle at the Red Port was raging intensely, and it wouldn't be decided quickly. But Sengoku and Garp were already preparing to head there.

Although they were old Marines, they still had combat power. In terms of force, it was already remarkable for the Revolutionary Army to push them to this point, but completely taking down Marine Headquarters would be much harder.

Just as the three prepared to leave from the docks, three figures blocked their path.

All the warships at the harbor had already been destroyed.

"Damn Buggy! He actually sneaked away with the ship!" Gecko Moria roared.

"When we find him, we'll kill him," Crocodile said.

"There's no retreat left. Since we've already decided, let's completely overturn this world." Mihawk raised his eyes to face the three veterans.

Sengoku, Garp, and Tsuru looked in surprise at the three before them.

Crocodile, Mihawk, Gecko Moria, three former Warlords of the Sea.

"What are you doing here?" Sengoku asked, surprised.

"..."

The three were speechless. After their defeat in Wano, Buggy said he wanted to find the Great Treasure, so they followed him. However, after heading to Whole Cake Island, Buggy secretly ran off, leaving them stranded on the island.

Buggy had escaped with his subordinates, taking along Charlotte Pudding, Big Mom's daughter and a member of the Three-Eye Tribe.

Their goal in going to Whole Cake Island, besides the Poneglyph, was to capture Pudding. The Three-Eye Tribe's true awakening, allowed them to interpret the meaning of the text.

They never expected Buggy to double-cross them. Buggy secretly ran off, leaving them on the island.

The four had a disagreement. Then they encountered a Revolutionary Army member. From him, they learned the Revolutionary Army had launched a full-scale assault on the Marines.

Over the next two days, they learned the Revolutionary Army had already taken the Four Blues, leaving only Marine Headquarters.

Kuzan made a decision. He would go help the Revolutionary Army complete the final war, to take down the World Government's most powerful military institution.

Mihawk, Crocodile, and Gecko Moria didn't want to antagonize the Marines.

But under Kuzan's provocation, the three were ultimately goaded by his challenge.

Weren't they supposed to be hunting Marines?

Why not go fight the Marines directly?

Wasn't this a good chance to prove themselves?

Provoked, the three set out for Marineford itself, arriving now to block Sengoku, Garp, and Tsuru.

"Where's Kuzan?" Garp asked.

"He went to the other side. Heard it's lively over there too," Crocodile said.

"I see. So you three are here to stop us?!!" Sengoku said.

"Although fighting old people doesn't sound good, but you three were once the Marine's pinnacle. We're here to challenge you. It doesn't count as bullying the elderly," Crocodile said.

"Bullying old men? Youngster, you really don't know our strength." Garp's face twisted into a grin, his Conqueror's Haki bursting forth.

"Little Tsuru, just stand by. The two will do. Let these youngsters also learn about the men who could rival the Pirate King on the seas back in the day," Sengoku stepped forward, Conqueror's Haki bursting forth from him. The Haki of the two soared into the sky.

BOOM!

Lightning split the sky. A pressure wave swept towards the three. Their eyes widened as they stared at the two old men before them, their hair flowing.

"This is too terrifying! The former Fleet Admiral, the Marine Hero..." Absalom said in terror.

"I... I can't look! It's too scary!" Perona closed her eyes, almost blown away by the pressure.

Mr. 1 took a deep breath. Two Conqueror's Haki users. The former strongest of the Marines. Even in their old age, they weren't opponents to be taken lightly.

Even if such men had only one breath left, they could easily kill them.

Two years ago, when Ace was captured, Jinbe, one of the Warlords, resisted Sengoku. The result was Sengoku easily suppressing him single-handedly.

Even in their old age, Sengoku and Garp still maintained Admiral-level combat power.

Legends of the past, possessors of Conqueror's Haki. Time had only left marks on their bodies, but could not erase their spirit.

"Dammit! These old men are supposed to be ancient! How do they still have this kind of presence?!" Gecko Moria exclaimed.

"If your scared, then move aside!"

Crocodile lunged forward, Haki swirling around his left hand, only to be met by Garp's charge.

Clang!

Facing Garp's terrifying iron fist, the golden hook in Crocodile's hand was shattered in the first clash. The next moment, Crocodile saw a terrifying face.

"Bwahaha, little punk don't be so cocky. Although I'm old, it doesn't mean anyone can bully me. Did you really think everyone was like that monster?" Garp's mind flashed to Roy's image, the only one who had taken him down with one punch. He still remembered that Haki.

Crocodile froze in terror as Garp seized his head, leaping into the air.

"Seabed... Drop!"

BOOM!

Crocodile was slammed heavily into the ground. Fortunately, his body turned to sand.

"WHUMMM!"

As Moria still reeled from the sight, the air vibrated with a golden light. A towering Buddha radiating divine brilliance loomed over them.

"The Buddha Sengoku!!!" Gecko Moria exclaimed.

Sengoku gave him no chance to speak further, slamming a palm towards them.

"Great Benevolent Palm!"

Gecko Moria prepared to flee, but at that moment, Mihawk stepped in front of him and drew his sword, gripping it with both hands.

Swish!

He slashed forward.

BOOM!

A tremendous roar echoed to the skies. A massive explosion occurred at Marine Headquarters. The ground shook, and dust filled the air.
