Chapter 326 - Chapter 326: Qilin and Eastern Arrangements

(TL Note: Warning! This chapter is about Chinese Bullshit Magic…)

"So you're saying that dark wizard wants to target our Qilin?" The Grand Master's face was full of surprise.

"According to the information I heard from Dumbledore, yes," Aiden nodded.

"Pfft." Wong beside him couldn't help but laugh.

"It's impossible for them to touch the Qilin, so you can go back now." The Grand Master also suppressed his laughter and waved his hand dismissively.

"Wait, don't you care? That's the Qilin we're talking about!" Now it was Aiden's turn to be surprised.

"Hahahaha."

The two began slapping their thighs and laughing heartily.

After a while, Wong had laughed enough and came over to pat Aiden's shoulder.

"Buddy, that's the Qilin—the Earth Element Qilin that guards the centre," Wong was doubled over with laughter.

"You mean the Qilin has no physical form?" Aiden finally realised.

"But they did find evidence of a sheep-headed, wolf-hooved, round-topped beast in their intelligence. So that's fake? A smokescreen you put out?" Aiden raised an eyebrow.

"Indeed, I told you this child has wisdom. Why don't you join my order? You'd make a great next Grand Master," the Grand Master stroked his beard thoughtfully.

As he spoke, the Grand Master glanced at Wong, who pretended not to see his master's look and turned his head away.

"Sigh." The Grand Master let out a long sigh.

"My position as Grand Master isn't some terrible burden. Why does everyone avoid it like the plague?" The Grand Master shook his head helplessly.

The frustrated Grand Master waved his hand and threw both of them out. The hall door slammed shut with a bang.

"Hey, that old man."

Wong fell to the ground, covering his backside.

While Aiden performed a nimble flip and landed steadily.

"Let's go," Aiden said.

"Where to?" Wong was somewhat confused.

"Take me to see your smokescreen creation."

Aiden casually waved his hand and pulled him up from the ground.

Wong again used spatial compression with Aiden, arriving in a mountain forest.

In the bamboo grove, it seemed wizards were already fighting.

Aiden looked closely and saw it was Newt and Grindelwald's subordinates.

"Aren't you going to help? That person seems to be your friend," Wong muttered.

"Let him learn a lesson, or Tina will nag me again later," Aiden directly pulled out a chair and sat down.

"Oh, interesting," Wong looked very intrigued.

"Tina said the reason Newt dares to go adventuring everywhere so recklessly is because I always clean up after him. She told me to give him a good scare next time he's in danger so he'll learn his lesson."

Aiden helplessly pulled out a coconut ice cream.

"Oh, just like our womenfolk. Give me some too," Wong extended his freeloading hand.

Aiden shared some with him, and the two watched Newt play chase in the bamboo grove while holding a specially made Qilin.

Finally, during an Apparition, Newt's protective spell was broken by Credence.

Seeing it was Newt who had always protected him, Credence didn't strike hard; he just knocked him out with a Stunning Spell.

Then the Qilin in Newt's arms was taken away.

"Is it really okay to just let them leave with the Qilin like this? Even if it's fake, aren't you afraid it will trigger prophecy in your country?" Aiden turned to ask.

"It's already been triggered. They say a great calamity will appear in a few years," Wong sighed.

"Many people will die," Aiden's hair covered his eyes, making his expression unreadable.

"Political cycles—it can't be helped. It's for civilisation to endure," Wong looked up at the starry sky.

"The Cosmic Secret Ritual?" Aiden murmured.

"Where did you learn that name!" Wong's previous dejection was instantly scattered by shock.

"I have an extraordinary relationship with the Unspeakables, and don't you communicate before constructing various rituals?" Aiden looked at him strangely.

"Whoa, so you're the next Director of the Department of Mysteries? No wonder you know these things," Wong relaxed again.

"Uh, no," Aiden raised his hand somewhat awkwardly.

"Damn it, the Department of Mysteries wouldn't leak our situation everywhere, would they! Wait, how did they bypass the contract? They didn't all defect, did they!"

Wong's state of mind could be described as full of ups and downs.

"My name is on the Unspeakable Stone," Aiden's words reassured him again.

"Brother, I'm begging you, don't torment me like this. If something happens to my heart, I'll definitely come back as a vengeful spirit to haunt you!" Wong threatened.

While the two were chatting, Newt nearby also woke up and struggled to crawl back to the dying 'Qilin's' side.

The 'Qilin' used all its strength to give birth to a second Qilin, then collapsed with dilated pupils.

Newt held the baby Qilin, leaning against the 'Qilin's' embrace.

A Wyvern flew out of his suitcase, wrapping Newt and his case with its long tail and carrying them away from the scene.

After the dust settled, Aiden and Wong entered the scene.

"Oh, crude Westerners, making such a mess of our place," Wong kept shooting accusatory glances at Aiden.

"Huh, huh, huh," a certain dragon whistled and turned his head away.

The dead Qilin on the ground slowly turned into a piece of dead wood, with tender green shoots growing on it.

"Life?" Aiden watched this scene.

"Yes, this is a counterfeit we crafted with life essence. But some of its abilities are genuine," Wong nodded.

Aiden narrowed his eyes, his heterochromatic pupils penetrating the boundary between illusion and reality.

On the collective unconscious sea, a pair of heterochromatic dragon eyes opened, scanning the entire area.

Finally, their hidden secrets were completely revealed before Aiden's eyes.

"What a scheme!" Aiden clapped his hands, applauding them.

"Actively spreading news about the Qilin and having some domestic wizards turn to Grindelwald to increase the Qilin's credibility. At the same time, deliberately letting the Qilin give birth to two offspring, triggering their struggle over destiny and leadership. Thus sharing part of your great calamity with others—what a brilliant scheme!" Aiden looked at Wong with burning eyes.

"Don't look at him anymore. These were all this old man's strategies. After this incident ends, I will take all responsibility and resign in disgrace."

An aged voice came from behind the two.

"Master," Wong looked at him with concern.

But the Grand Master ignored him, instead focusing his gaze on Aiden.

"So, what will you choose? Report me or watch everything happen, foreigner?"

Golden lightning flickered in the depths of the Grand Master's eyes.

Aiden closed his golden pupil and looked at the two with his blue pupil.

Then he turned and Disapparated away.

"Why did he leave? What does he mean?" Wong was confused.

"Learn well," the Grand Master knocked Wong's head hard, then used spatial compression to leave.
