Chapter 246 - Ao Tian and the Heavenly Way of Douluo Continent

"What's wrong with that? Have you forgotten how humans were treated when the Dragon God was alive? If we hadn't risen up in defiance, all our human gods would have been slaughtered long ago," the God of Destruction said coldly.

The Benevolent God King spoke up: "Back then, the Dragon God acted out because of his own faults, and there were traitors fanning the flames. Now that the Dragon God is dead, the rebellious soul beasts either have been killed or enslaved. I think our treatment of mortal soul beasts is a bit excessive."

The God of Destruction sneered: "The Golden Dragon King is still alive, and the Silver Dragon King's whereabouts are unknown. They're surely waiting for an opportunity to strike back. Showing mercy to the soul beasts is cruelty to ourselves. Benevolent one, don't get us killed."

"But—"

"Enough talk." The Evil God King interrupted. "Our hatred with the soul beasts is irreconcilable. Only by killing the Golden Dragon King and the Silver Dragon King can we hope to eliminate their grudges against us."

The Benevolent God King fell silent, turning his gaze toward Di Tian on Douluo Continent.

"He's about to collapse. His life force is fading; soon, he will perish under the heavenly tribulation," said the Goddess of Life.

The God of Destruction laughed coldly. "How presumptuous. Truly courting death."

At this moment, Di Tian's dragon body was shattered by the heavenly tribulation—scales cracked, bones exposed in many places.

He clung desperately to life, not even letting out a scream, channeling all his energy to resist the tribulation.

The other formidable beasts grew anxious, glancing repeatedly at Ao Tian, hoping he would intervene.

"About time, right?" Gu Yue Na said.

"Yes." Ao Tian nodded, opening his palm to reveal a pill the size of a chicken egg.

This pill was unusually large, radiating golden light upon appearance. Its aura caused nearby flora to grow at an astonishing rate.

Weakened as he was, Di Tian's eyes lit up with joy at the sight of the pill.

"Open your mouth," Ao Tian said, lightly flicking his hand. The pill flew into Di Tian's mouth.

Refined with his essence and blood, it was perfectly suited to restore Di Tian.

Ao Tian could have arranged an array to aid the tribulation, but it was unnecessary: Di Tian needed to experience the tribulation firsthand, and Ao Tian was curious about its power.

By delivering the pill mid-tribulation, Ao Tian had already intervened. Naturally, the tribulation would now be affected by this interference.

After consuming the pill, Di Tian's shattered body rapidly regenerated. His blood shimmered gold.

Within a few breaths, Di Tian was restored to peak condition, and his aura surged. The remaining heavenly tribulation inflicted far less damage—not because it weakened, but because Di Tian had strengthened beyond its reach.

Inside the Divine Committee, the five Asura Gods froze.

"Impossible!" the God of Destruction shouted.

"What is that golden light?" one Asura God asked in confusion.

The Goddess of Life shook her head. "I can't see clearly, but Di Tian's aura keeps rising. The tribulation can no longer prevent his ascension."

The Benevolent God King said: "No wonder Di Tian dared to undergo the tribulation. He had prepared all along."

The Asura God looked to the Evil God King. "Should we intervene?"

The Evil God King replied: "Each plane has its own rules. We can't fully control them; we can only interfere. The tribulation's power against him cannot increase further."

The God of Destruction laughed. "Asura, don't worry. Once he ascends, we can crush him like any other. A mere fledgling poses no threat."

The Evil God King nodded. "Indeed. Other soul beasts might be tolerable, but the dragons' hatred is in their very bones. This Di Tian cannot remain."

He turned to the Asura God. "You're familiar with Douluo Continent. Go deal with Di Tian."

The Asura God sighed. "What a waste."

As he prepared to depart, the Goddess of Life cried out, "Look! Another heavenly tribulation forms, and its power seems far greater than Di Tian's!"

They stared at the new tribulation cloud—vastly larger than Di Tian's.

Strangely, beneath it was no one at all.

"What is happening?" Even the Evil God King was unsettled.

Today had been full of anomalies. Earlier, they didn't care much; even if Di Tian ascended, he would have been easy to kill.

But now, events defied all their understanding.

"Asura, go see what's causing this," the Evil God King said.

The Asura God nodded. His consciousness dispersed as he traveled to Douluo Continent.

The remaining four in the Committee continued monitoring the continent.

"Interesting. Very interesting," the God of Destruction muttered, eyes crackling with lightning, intrigued.

Ao Tian looked up at the tribulation cloud above, calm as ever.

Its power far exceeded Di Tian's, yet to him, it was still weak.

Gu Yue Na stood beside him, unaffected.

Ao Tian didn't rush to break the tribulation. Instead, he studied it curiously.

His vast divine consciousness detected countless mysterious forces trying to envelop and even invade him—but failing.

"This is the Heavenly Way of Douluo Continent," Ao Tian realized.

He understood: it was the power of this Heavenly Way that caused the tribulation to target him.

Yet, not everyone could perceive this Heavenly Way.

The Heavenly Way is elusive; even gods like the Evil God King cannot control it.

Legend says the Divine Realm is formed by the collective will of countless beings across planes, allowing only the strongest to intervene.

Whether that's true, no one knows.

But one thing was certain: no god could fully manipulate the Heavenly Way of a world.

Ao Tian had sensed its presence before but never studied it seriously.

Now, because he had intervened in Di Tian's tribulation, he felt it vividly for the first time.

Although mysterious, it was still weaker than him.

What puzzled him was the strange familiarity in the Heavenly Way wrapping around him.

It seemed almost joyful.

The tribulation that had threatened him began to dissipate.

Through the Heavenly Way entwining him, he realized: the Heavenly Way had abandoned its attack.

Ao Tian was deeply puzzled—why did he feel such a kinship with Douluo Continent's Heavenly Way?

Meanwhile, the tribulation above Di Tian finally dissipated.

He had succeeded in his tribulation—becoming the first soul beast to ascend to godhood after years of defeat.
