Chapter 39 - Rahn Makes His Move

"You train to destroy gods, then cry when your home burns. That's what makes you human. Don't lose it."

— Valenya Vordrakar

Scene 1: The Calm Before Ash

At the edge of the warpath, the Five prepare.

Olivia studies the Harmony Chain.

Aeyra meditates, trying to stabilize her visions.

Valenya and Aren run defense scenarios.

Kaien watches the flame that now dances in his palm.

Then—

A blinding ripple across the Void.

The Citadel cries out.

A scream not of stone—but of soul.

Kaien's eyes go wide.

"They're attacking home."

Scene 2: Rahn Returns

Rahn's forces descend on the Citadel in total silence.

No announcement.

No flare of war.

Just obliteration.

He walks at the front.

Unarmored. Calm.

Wearing the sigil of the erased — the unblooded void.

"You were building a legacy. I just reminded them the cost of believing in you."

Screams erupt.

The flame that once welcomed Kaien begins to flicker.

Scene 3: Kaien Returns

Kaien tears through the warpath.

Voidflame bursting like wings of cosmic fire.

He doesn't wait for the others.

He lands on the Citadel roof just as a spire collapses.

Valenya is holding back an army alone.

Aren is bleeding beside her, teeth gritted.

Valenya: "Told you he'd come."

Kaien: "You held the line."

Aren: "Barely. Please punch something."

Kaien punches through ten attackers in one motion.

He's not fighting.

He's punishing.

Scene 4: Aeyra's Choice

Inside the library vaults, Aeyra faces Rahn alone.

She's scared. He knows it.

Rahn: "You see too many futures. Let me give you just one: the one where he fails you."

He reaches toward her forehead.

And she grabs his hand.

Aeyra: "You're not a vision. You're just pathetic."

She activates a pulse bomb Aren built — the whole vault explodes in starlight.

But when the light clears—

The most ancient scroll in the Citadel is gone.

Rahn has stolen a memory weapon.

Scene 5: Olivia & Valenya's Realization

While fighting in the halls, Olivia and Valenya find a dying librarian-guard.

He gasps something terrifying:

"They're not trying to kill us… they're trying to rewrite us."

Valenya grabs a half-burned journal:

"The Forgotten God doesn't destroy. It edits."

"Rahn's giving it fuel."

Olivia clutches the Harmony Chain.

Her voice shakes.

"If it rewrites Kaien's name out of time—he's gone."

"Not dead. Never existed."

Final Scene: The Citadel Falls

Kaien reaches the core.

But it's too late.

Rahn smiles from the broken Flame Chamber.

"You fought for legacy. I fight to erase it."

He vanishes.

The Citadel's central flame collapses in on itself.

The structure crumbles.

Kaien screams.

The chapter ends with Aeyra, blood on her face, whispering:

"This… wasn't in any of my visions."
