Nicole looked as if she was about to cry, gazing mournfully at Ethan Harper: "Brother Harper, we've known each other since we were kids. I just need you to help me. Are you really willing to break ties with me over this woman... a married woman at that? Don't you care about the relationships between our families? Is this still you?"
"If you hadn't pulled this stunt, if you had come to me and explained things properly, perhaps I could have found a way to help you," Ethan said coldly. "But instead, you went to her and made such a scene."
Nicole bit her lip, her eyes brimming with tears: "I'm out of options. I just hope you'll help me. We can even have a fake marriage, as long as I can avoid my brother controlling me, I'll do anything."
