Two months into the semester, Xinyan completed all the exams for the two majors in the Western Language Department—English and German—and was approved for graduation.
The school coordinated with her so that her diploma would be awarded together with the graduates of this class.
However, her graduation placement stirred up some waves. The medical school felt she was extraordinarily gifted in medicine and already capable of independently performing various major surgeries, wanting her to work at the hospital. Meanwhile, the Western Language Department refused to let her go, thinking that the country is currently short of talents in this area and wanted her to join the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Both sides were unwilling to give in. Ultimately, when it came to consulting her personal wish, Xinyan chose neither the hospital nor the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but opted to stay at the school to teach.
