Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Playing the Persuader

Yu Xinyan drank the warm water from the enamel cup on the cabinet and finished the food in the aluminum lunchbox.

Nothing is more important than getting healthy now, then she can think carefully about what to do next.

Thinking about what she has to face next, she took a deep breath and sighed heavily. Since heaven gave her another chance, she must live well.

Whoever wants to be a free nanny can be one.

It is now April 1978, last year the college entrance examination just got reinstated. In the past life, she always wanted to go to university, but after marrying Lyu Juncheng, she was living in a state of constant turmoil, where was the time and energy to study?

Although later she managed to pursue adult education through self-study, and even learned English due to livelihood needs, it could not make up for the regret of not taking the college entrance examination.

This time, no one can stop her dream of going to university.

While lying in bed lost in thought, she unintentionally fell asleep again.

When she woke up again, she saw Sister Tian sitting by the bed.

Seeing her awake, Sister Tian got up to pour her half a cup of warm water and asked with a smile, "Feeling any better?"

Yu Xinyan propped herself up to sit: "The dizziness has eased a lot, but it hurts whenever I move. When did you come over, Sister Tian?"

Sister Tian helped her up: "Just arrived, finished with my house chores and came to see how you are doing, have some water."

Yu Xinyan took the enamel cup from Sister Tian, feeling a bit embarrassed, said, "Sister Tian, everyone has a lot at home, I've troubled you enough, I can take care of myself, you go ahead with your work."

Sister Tian didn't really want to come, it was at the behest of Lyu Juncheng to counsel Yu Xinyan, so she could get discharged early to take care of the children. She thought Lyu Juncheng was a bit anxious, but indeed the three children of the Lyu Family needed someone to take care of, so she agreed to come.

Sister Tian had already thought of an excuse, pointing at the aluminum lunchbox on the nightstand with a smile, "It's okay. I just needed to fetch the lunchbox. Otherwise, what would I use to bring dinner?"

Yu Xinyan took a sip of water from the enamel cup: "Thank you, Sister Tian, for going through the trouble again."

Sister Tian waved her off: "We live next to each other, helping each other is only right. Besides, if I have something in the future, won't you help?"

Yu Xinyan smiled at Sister Tian but didn't respond. In this life, she couldn't possibly stay with Lyu Juncheng anymore, so she couldn't answer that.

Sister Tian didn't notice the change in her expression, just continued, "The factory's production tasks are heavy now, Jun Cheng has been so busy these days. You'd better get well soon. Only when there are no worries at home can the men focus on work, right?"

Upon hearing this, Yu Xinyan realized that Sister Tian was acting as a persuader. Lyu Juncheng was indeed resourceful.

She looked up and gave a shallow smile to Sister Tian: "Without good health, I can't take care of those three children. What you said is right; I will definitely recover soon. You've been bothered."

But she just wouldn't say, 'Get discharged soon and take care of the children.'

Sister Tian couldn't say it too explicitly either, after all, they lived close by, and they had to get along in the future. No need to make things awkward prematurely.

They chatted idly for a bit longer, and seeing that it was getting late, Sister Tian stood up with a smile and said, "You rest up. I'll go back to cook, and I'll come back later."
