Ten minutes later, Humphrey Jennings found the bruised and battered Benjamin Durant in an alley.
He turned on his phone's flashlight, casting a circle of light down on Benjamin Durant sitting on the ground, who instinctively raised a hand to shield his face.
He squinted, and through the gap between his fingers, saw it was Humphrey Jennings and breathed a slight sigh of relief.
"You're late."
Benjamin Durant leaned against the wall, straightening his sleeves, "The people are long gone after the fight. With your speed, if anything happens to me in the future, you'll only be able to come and collect my body."
"Coward."
Putting away his phone, Humphrey Jennings slightly frowned.
Benjamin Durant was displeased, staring, and argued with him, "Being chased by women is not cowardice! It's called being a gentleman!"
Humphrey Jennings gave him a sidelong glance, sarcastically teasing, "A gentleman beaten to a pulp."
"You!"
Benjamin Durant pointed a finger at him.
