Elián;
Warmth.
That's the first thing I feel when consciousness begins to drag me back… and then voices. Muffled… little whispers that I can't make out.
I let out a breath, waiting for my thoughts to fall into place, and that's when I remember him.
Elien.
I gasp, eyes flying open, and before I even look around the room, the first thing I do is reach inward… that hidden place inside me where he lives.
"Elien? Elien—are you there??" I call in panic, but I hear nothing, and my heart shatters.
I bite my lips as I feel them wobble, and I keep my gaze trained on the ceiling above me. Zephan's ceiling.
"Elien…?" I croak inwardly, as a reality I don't want to accept begins to settle on me.
"I'm here, Elián." His voice fills my mind like a breath I've been holding for a century, and tears rush to my eyes.
"You're back…" I exhale, sounding somewhere between a sob and a relieved laugh… and I barely get the chance to process anything before two bodies slam into me at once.
