Mercer was sitting at his desk, paperwork spread out as waiting to be read and sorted. Some were reports on villages being attacked, others on the cities requesting more funding. Others requested protection to help with the growing rates of bandits forming around.
Yet Mercer's mind lay distracted in the fact his grandson is contracted to the Lamia. It explains why so many monsters have been attracted to him, most naturally remembering her. In some cases they have a huge grudge against her for turning her back against them.
Though he supposed it was the dynasty he found, their bloodline flows back to the first king of the kingdom. Mercer and Sami are related to her albeit at this point distantly. Mercer assumes that ring Sami has is connected to the lineage they share, though he hasn't done too much studying on since it hasn't been important.
Truthfully it's all a mess turning into a vampire, or even a half one wasn't that big of a deal. Maybe he should sit down with Sami and tell him the truth of where he comes from, at least on his side of the family. Mercer still have not traced his daughter in law side beside being the daughter to the current King.
Or was the current king at any rate what most people don't know he is dead. The king died during the rebellion to Baron Valerius. It's how he ruled the western half of the kingdom. Also why his Moniker is the Wizard King, he truly is a king albeit in standing for Sami till he is ready. Though Mercer thought Sami never would've unlocked powers so he was hiding everything from him until Sami had a child or someone more worthy came.
The only person who knows that Sami is the heir of the entire kingdom and related to the original king is Anna. Mercer wanted Anna to open his eyes to the dangers of the world. Some students died, and he got seriously injured by the vampires yet those were acceptable losses.
His grandson needs to grow up, he knew that Sami would be attacked. The demon army is stirring and more are escaping the seals quicker. Just like if he sent Sami back to the fields Mercer assumes that he will be attacked again today. Going as far as giving him terrible teachers that lack in their duties. Sami needs to be self-sufficient, and not trust those around him.
Mercer let out a sigh all of these things weighed on his heart. As glanced at the folder Roric left on his desk. All names of the villagers that died in that huge attack. Mercer deserves some of the blame because he didn't take into the account the monster will launch a huge attack.
The door to his office began to have urgent knocking bring Mercer from his thoughts. Before he can say enter a student he recognized that was part of his team Poke came barging through the door. Sightly out of breath as he spoke with urgency.
"Sir students that were in the field came running back for help. Sami and Lyra were attacked by an armored figure wearing the Knights emblem.", Spoke Poke as he tried to catch his breath.
"Come, it's time I take to the battlefield ", Mercer responded as he stood up. Grabbing his staff as he walked past Poke. "Go to Roric's office and tell him to issue thirty knights to meet me in the destroyed city I'm going ahead, Poke."
"Yes Sir", Poke shouted before rushing off to the teachers office.
"I guess it's time to see Sami's growth in person", Mercer thought to himself as he teleported to the entrance of the school.
"Dammit", Lyra screamed as she was leaning on her hammer. Her left arm hung limply to her side as she tried to catch her breath.
Lyra tried to attack earlier, but the monster caught the hammer in his hand before swinging her around, throwing her. Landing awkwardly caused her left arm to be dislocated from her shoulder. While a small injury is still slightly painful, especially while in the middle of a battle.
Clenching her right hand, Lyra watched as Sami was using shields to block attacks from the creature. Both of them could barely keep up with the speed of the monster. Even with the using the shields Sami would take one hit per every hit he blocked.
Not letting Sami fight on his own, Lyra began to let out a chant. Grabbing her hammer with her right hand she began to swing the hammer around before letting go.
"Impactus Meteori(Meteor Impact)", Shouted Lyra.
The hammer began to fly at the armored creature, as rocks began to form around the head of the hammer. Fire can be seen coming off the hammer as it grew closer. Sami sensing the danger turned into a ghost going into the ground before appearing next to Lyra.
BOOM!
The whole area exploded in dust after the hammer hit the creature. Sami was breathing heavily, his body having sharp pain through it for using his ability for too long.
"Do… you.. Think.. We… got..him", Sami huffed out as he took in deep breaths.
Lyra stood up clenching her left arm. "Hopefully that attack takes so much energy."
As the dust began to clear they both saw the creature standing there, arm outstretched holding the hammer in its hand. Clenching its fist, the creature shattering the hammer.
"Ugh you got be fucking kidding me", Lyra whined. "What the fuck do have to do take this creature down"
"I don't know", replied Sami, his gaze weary as the monster stood there silently.

An electrical burst went through Sami's necklace as it dropped to the ground. Just like when he first unlocked his magic with a rush of energy, the world seemed so clear as he took everything. Eyes closed as Sami felt a sense of euphoria.
"YES….. YOU…. AWAKEN…GOOD", The creature shouted excitement in its voice as it echoed around the field.
"Yeah, it's time for round 3", Sami shouted with excitement as he began to stretch, his injuries healing at a fast rate in front of Lyra.
Lyra looked shocked at Sami as she felt the energy radiating off of him. She could see an aura showing purple and black. Soon an outfit began to encircle Sami that was purple and black in nature with a number 1 on his back.
