A horse approached Pei Shu'er's sedan chair after traveling a distance.
Liu Xu watched the newcomer warily and, upon recognizing Yan Huan Yu, broke into a smile.
Yan Huan Yu walked alongside the sedan for quite a while before gently calling out.
"Sister."
Pei Shu'er lifted the curtain of the sedan and looked at Yan Huan Yu through her veil.
Yan Huan Yu could only see Pei Shu'er's red lips and delicate chin.
"Fengqing, you're here?"
Looking at Pei Shu'er's smile, Yan Huan Yu felt a pang in his heart and realized just how much he had missed her during their time apart.
His words got stuck in his throat. He wanted to take Pei Shu'er away, but he had no standing to do so.
His eyes turned red; he smiled, but the smile was more painful than crying.
"Yes, sister, I'm here. After all, you're getting married, so I had to come, didn't I?"
Pei Shu'er's smile became even more genuine.
"Thank you, then, little brother."
What an understanding brother.
