Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 – Cursed Hero (2)

My name is Jinwoo Lee.An ordinary office worker living in Korea—or at least, I was until a month ago.

Even now, I still can't make sense of what happened.Like usual, I clicked the icon on my screen to launch Pure Love Fantasy. And that's when everything went haywire.

A blinding light burst from my monitor, and before I could react, I lost consciousness.

When I opened my eyes, I was no longer in my room.I had somehow been transported into the world of Pure Love Fantasy. And not just anywhere—I had become Ion Rayhard, the main character of the game who achieves the harem ending.

"Ion, I'm ready."

I turned my head toward the soft, warm voice and was greeted by a breathtaking sight.

Demeter stood there, ready to go out.

Her beauty was the kind that stood out no matter the setting—Her long brown hair cascaded gracefully down to her hips,Her bare shoulders were delicately exposed by the white mermaid dress she wore,And her curves were perfectly emphasized by its silhouette.

She was a goddess in every sense of the word.

"Let's go," she said.

Demeter, now wearing white shoes that completed her elegant look, gave me a gentle smile.

Even when I saw her in the game's low-resolution graphics, she was beautiful—but seeing her now in person, she looked even more ethereal, as though her very existence was meant to make hearts flutter.

"Uh, yeah… okay," I replied awkwardly.

Still feeling the unfamiliar weight of my new body, I stepped forward slowly. When I reached her, Demeter reached out and took my hand, just like she always did.

The warmth of her slender fingers melted into mine.

"Shall we go, then?""Yeah."

With our hands linked, we stepped out of the cabin. As the scent of the Goddess of Fertility filled the air between us, I couldn't help but recall the passion we'd shared in bed the night before.

Some time had passed since I'd become Ion.

At first, I was confused.I thought I was dreaming. But no matter how many nights came and went, I never woke up.

There was no way to return to my original world.I eventually had to accept that this was my new reality—and that I was now Ion.

Thankfully, this world's timeline was set after the game's ending. The Demon King had already been defeated, and peace had returned.Because of that, there were no dangerous battles or threats to face.

All I had to do was play the role of the celebrated hero—the man who had saved the world.

Surprisingly, living as Ion wasn't that hard. His memories remained intact within the body I now occupied, and the knowledge I'd gained from playing Pure Love Fantasy helped me blend in.

No one doubted my identity. As long as I acted carefully, I could live a comfortable second life.

…That is, until she said what she did.

"Hero! Lady Demeter!"

As Demeter and I appeared in town, the residents stopped what they were doing to greet us with admiration and reverence.

Months had passed since Demeter settled here, but their respect for her hadn't faded in the slightest.

Demeter waved gently to the people, who looked up to her with shining eyes.

We were in the Lepothesia Forest, located in the northwest of the Crea continent. The forest was named after Demeter herself, the goddess of abundance, whose divine powers had once saved it from ruin.

Despite the current peace of the so-called Divine Age, scars from the Great War still lingered across the land.

After the war, the goddesses descended from heaven had devoted themselves to healing the broken world. Each goddess took charge of her own region, bringing growth and prosperity to the lands.

Because of that, even after our grand wedding, my wives hadn't had much time for a honeymoon. So I traveled between their domains, living with each of them in turn and sharing moments of quiet domestic life.

"Demeter~!"

While we were walking hand in hand, drawing everyone's attention, a small girl suddenly ran up to us—not to me, but straight to Demeter.

"I made this for you!" she declared proudly.

She held out her tiny hands to reveal a hairpin made of real flowers.

"H-Hey! You can't just give that to the goddess…!" her mother said in a panic.

"Thank you. It's lovely," Demeter replied with a gentle smile, accepting the gift without hesitation.

The girl's mother blinked in disbelief.

"R-Really?"

"She made it just for me. Of course I should accept it."

Demeter placed the flower hairpin gently in her bangs and turned to me.

"How does it look?"

"It suits you," I said honestly.

Demeter blushed and averted her gaze slightly, her usual confidence replaced by a shy charm. She was the kind of woman who could make a man fall for her without even trying.

"Thank you for the lovely gift," she said to the girl, smiling like the spring sun.

The girl beamed with pride, and her mother looked too overwhelmed to speak.Demeter waved to them and resumed our walk through the village.

Demeter was even more beloved here than she had been during the war.

And it was no wonder why.During the Great War, this forest had been reduced to ashes by the Demon King's army.Everything was lost. Homes, families, entire generations of memories… all gone.

Just when no one believed the forest could recover, Demeter stepped in.

She believed—truly believed—that they could restore the forest if they all worked together. And she proved it.

With her divine powers, new greenery began to bloom over the desolate land.Bushes and trees sprouted once more, and the dead forest was reborn into something even grander than before.

The people, forever grateful, named the forest in her honor—Lepothesia. And she became known as the Guardian of Mother Nature.

"It's been a while… I'm a little nervous," Demeter said softly.

We had arrived at a secluded archery range deep in the forest, one created specifically for her.

Despite her delicate appearance, Demeter was a master archer. She could hit a target from 10 miles away with deadly precision.During the war, she'd used that skill to devastating effect, taking down waves of enemies from afar.

Twang!

An arrow zipped through the air and struck the bullseye. It was a perfect shot.

"As expected… you're amazing," I said, clapping sincerely.

Demeter gave me a proud smile, brushing her shimmering hair behind her ear.

"Why don't you give it a try?""Me?""I thought it would be nice to practice together again. Just like old times."

I hesitated at first, but seeing her hopeful eyes, I couldn't refuse.

Gripping the bow, I took aim and fired.

Twang! The arrow landed far from the center.

"…Guess I'm rusty," I muttered, embarrassed.

"It's fine. Ion was always a swordsman, wasn't he?" Demeter said gently.

She was right. Ion's main weapon was a sword. But even then, the me inside wasn't a warrior—I was just an ordinary man.

I could only hope I'd never have to wield a real weapon again.

As I stepped back, Demeter continued practicing.Every arrow she loosed hit dead center with breathtaking precision.

Watching her shoot was something else entirely. Her usually soft eyes were sharp and focused, her every move full of strength and grace.

Each shot made her chest sway slightly, and her slender hips shifted beneath her dress. It was hard not to stare.

"Ion," she said suddenly.

I had just taken up the bow again when she called my name.

"Hm? What is it?"

"What you asked me before… I'm ready."

Twang!

Startled, I accidentally released the arrow mid-movement.It shot off into the wrong direction—but I didn't even glance at it. I turned to Demeter.

"…What did you say?"

There was no mistaking it.She hadn't forgotten what I asked. There was no way she had.

Yet she looked straight at me and spoke clearly:

"Whatever you want me to do… I'll do it."

Demeter slowly lowered her bow. Her expression was firm, resolute.

My heart pounded violently in my chest at her unexpected and shocking declaration.
