The creatures who charged at her was a star shaped creature, its 5 rays looking like axes, another was a mass of rats in a united body this one looking more dangerous than the last one and last but no least a ball of darkness witch had smaller round white orbs inside its body.
As soon as they spotted her they attacked the mass of rat charged straight at her trying to overwhelm her with mass,the star cycled back ready for an opportunity to strike and the ball when she saw what the ball threw at her face she immediately paled.
In the first sector of the cycle of the elements a far far relative even farther than the shadowy creatures was known to exist the name of the element was Chaos.
The element was known for its destructive ability even more than fire, and the most widely known version of such destruction was named Chaos Ball.
Chaos Ball was the bread and butter of everyone who used the element of Chaos much like fireball, its potency was summarised by the diameter of the ball and the potency of the magic inside. Still even the worst Chaos Ball could destroy a wall of a house eazly and at the very least leave a dent on the walls here since they were on the entrance the defences here the weakest since they needed a solid base to hold the building.
Still since it was so easy to conjure humanity have long found its weaknesses firstly it exploded on the smallest of contact even if the user didn't want it to, in certain cases if such contact was minimal and the user very cable they could hold it in but it was so hard and energy consuming that no one really tried, secondly the light element was the best defensive element and since it counters to an extent the shadows it can naturally hold its ground against some of the strongest Chaos Balls still Nolia didn't knew how to use light so she chosen choice number 3, since it needed contact that meant using the elements one could stop it from finding it and since she controlled the air she could do it better than the other elements.
So she charged in thrusting her spear at the mass of rats and using technique rather than strength forced the mass to the side, then with her other hand making complicated gestures tried to lift off the dark ball keeping it off ground. Still as soon as she did she realised something was amiss after all the ball resisted her pull like it was alive, in fact it pulsed trying to push the air away. Surprised at the revelation she momentarily left her guard down.
And the star of axes capitalized the chance as it immediately swingged its axes to her right side of her rib cutting deep inside.
AHH!!! God dammit the cursed creatures they truly are smart.
Because of the pain she lost her concentration and left the ball free, the small ball shoted straight to her hitting her on the belly stealing her breath out of her lungs before dissolving into thin air. Since she lost her strength the mass of rats easily threw the spear away from her hands and bit off her right hand essentially maiming it.
Ouch!! Ouch!! Ok Ok you are tough when you want to i give you that.
Then from her right hand she produced a flame and using it she exploded the mouse's mouth. After all, it wasn't mandatory to make gestures to use an element. Then weaving complicated gestures with the now free left hand she used a gale of air throwing the mass of rats 30 feet away smacking them on a support column.
Then rising and stomping her left feet down she created another gale much stronger and faster than before striking the star and slamming it to the ceiling above. In a 12 meter building the floors had to be very short in order for it to support 20 floors. That meant inside was a total chaos of overlapping offices and the ceilings weren't taller than 2 to 3 meters.
A loud boom was heard but she didn't pay it attention. Her whole town was at stake so destroying this building seemed small in comparison. It was rather unfortunate or rather planned that no one needed to go outside. All monsters runned away from the door and dogged it like the plague and as soon as they appeared they hunted the humans forcing them to go inside. As for the windows they didn't show enough of the city so it was apparent what was happening outside and the few they could show it, were mysteriously darker than normal.
Obviously there were cameras and such but since they could spawn everywhere the room of cameras wasn't an exception. Just because they couldn't see the cameras didn't mean they couldn't destroy them, that was what the job of the diseased summoner. By infusing objects with his own energy it could guide its summons on objects or more intricate things. Since that happened at the beginning even though the summoner died the cameras died well before him.
And since everyone fought to quell the inside of the building noone thought to go outside.
The ball runned back losing its frontline was bad, so it created distance before the human striked, it cursed it's own incompetence for not guarding the door. Everyone was confirmed to be away from the door and as the only exit all the creatures runned around the stairs trying to achieve their original objective. Still looks like the summoner overlooked a piece of information about the elevator. The monsters could use the stairs but not the elevator and since the plan worked the summoner didn't infuse the elevator with his energy making it invisible to its minions and by the time they noticed her star it was already too late.
Still she couldn't capitalize on the chance getting axed in the rib and having her hand temporarily maimed was no joke. She needed to think fast, she was certain she could kill all of them but that was not the goal still she could clearly see that more runned down the stairs effectively blocking them, that meant she was left with only one option the elevator it was risky and probably lethal but running and killing till the 20 floor would certainly would leave her exhausted.
Still the magic of the elevator was weak, even smashing it would force it to stop and the elevator itself wasn't better, it barely fit 3 people and was going rather slowly.
I don't have a choice on the matter do I? When 2 more monsters runned down the stairs charging at her and the other 2 returned from their daze she finally steeled her resolve.
I will reach the 20th floor even if it kills me.
The star started rotating and charged at her with lethal precision, the ball shoted 2 more balls at her while the mass of rats stood back guarding the ball. The 2 new creatures a black monstrous hyena and a stickman figure with scissors for hands charged at her ready to munch her head.
Still she waited for all of them to charge at her calmly walking forward. First came the balls without her spears she created fire arrows and shooted them, the balls dogged them and keept going for her she kept shooting forcing them to keep their distance. As for the other 3 they charged together closing all paths of escape besides back. Across her the stickman chopped the air with his scissors making for a creepy sound, still when they approached her she didn't run back she didn't even defended herself instead she maked a pirouette gathering the air around her ussing the ultimate defensive ability of the air element called Absolute Avoidance of Air.
By temporary becoming literally air she rushed straight at the scissor and runned past them and the stickman, unfortunately such a perfect dodge couldn't keept forever and as soon she runned past the stickman she materialized,she could hold it longer but she was moving with the speed of a turtle in that form and now she needed speed.
Placing her feet on the ground she immediately runned without looking back charging at the mass of rats, she left the other 5 behind her but if she was too slow they would recover, she could dodge the rat the same was but that would drain all her energy and more importantly leave her open for the ball to attack unlike the others both the ball and the rat didn't charge realising their role.
Why do you have to be so smart, running with a broken rib was certainly hard thankfully the elevator was relatively close, otherwise she would be in trouble.
Still she eventually approached the mass of rats forcing it to act so it used its special ability and self exploded shooting thousands of rats to her. With no time to think and realising now wasn't the time for failure she used it again clearly surprised that it could do that. The attack missed in fact some landed on the 5 monsters behind her slowing them down but she came out of it utterly exhausted and had to contend with the ball.
The ball in question realising it has no chance on a prolonged melle and seeing her out of breath decided to play it all in. By composing itself it created the fastest most resilient ball it could right now its speed could reach a maximum of 50km/hour. So when she got close enough it shooted its shot. She dogged it out of pure reflexes falling down, the ball was so close and so fast that even though she dogged it her bones got hurt just from the pressure of the wind that and her previous injuries maked her slow to get up and when she did a tentacle pierced her right chest right above her lungs straight through her boob piercing her back and running until the wall pinning her down.
Still she wasn't done puking blood she placed her good left hand on the tentacle and using all her energy she casted the most explosive fire creating a shocking wave cable of pushing her back to the elevator.
And it worked kind of after all even though she escaped all her previous hunters there was still one more right on top of the elevator.
