Iode stands on a spot, he deactivates the Dragon Man and recalls his weapon, then he falls on his knees. His burnt face has healed to a considerable degree. His face looks sombre as he gaze at the horizon.
"Roxanne, Roxana, I'm sorry, please wait for me, I'll come home very soon. Olivia, wherever you are, please watch over our kids". He said somberly.
Olivia was Iode's wife from the Krillia family noble household, she was his first love whom he met at the entrance assessment to Rohanes academy — one of the five prestigious institution of the wizard tribe. They were both one star at the time, unfortunately, Olivia failed the assessment but Iode managed to pass.
However, they made a promise to each other to enter the academy. The following year, Olivia re-enrolled and took the assessment, she passed and entered the academy.
When Iode decides to go on an adventure round the world to tell about a catastrophe that would ensue in the future, she tagged along together with Anushka the third successor of Seraph's power and Absalom the red goblin who was one of Iode apprentice.
They faced all kinds of challenges including fighting Zenobios Bruggen— a dark elf from the distant past who sought to destroy the world and control all that is left, and Dixon the stickman necromancer — a prince with vast knowledge of curse magic who plagued his nation.
Soon after their adventure was complete, Iode married Olivia, they gave birth to Roxanne and Roxana respectively, however, tragedy struck as Olivia came down with a strange sickness that took her life away when Roxana was just two years of age.
Iode tried to find cure for his wife but his efforts proved avail. He was saddened and severely depressed to the extent that he neglected his children and almost lost them till his younger sisters and the Zenivia household — Igor's descendant family, came to his rescue and offered him reasons to continue living — to look after his children.
Iode himself was diagnosed with chronic sickness after he fought Queen Bathsheba of the Valkyries. He used a swordsman skill called Warriors fury — a skill that drains life force to fuel a killing attack; on the queen to finish her with the aim of dieing with her.
However, both he and the queen survived but he was scarred for life. He was told that he would live only for five years, however in order to extend his lifespan, he delved into forbidden arts. Olivia, as his wife got to know even though he tried to hide it.
Despite her awareness, Olivia never looked at him in a bad way or leave him because of it, she loved him like always. Iode was glad and grateful for having her as a spouse, so when she died, he was down to depression.
This time, the children he has with Olivia are what is keeping him alive, to see them grow and not let Olivia down. All that is in his mind is to go back home, he never thought giving up Igor's powers would do him this bad.
"Igor it's all your fault I'm in this predicament". He mutters. He looks at his wrist, he could see the stigma shimmer, he frowns. Within a blink of an eye, he could see himself get teleported away from the island to Valier's presence.
"You did a splendid job eliminating that pest from my controlled territory. One of the rival devils planted several of them across different locations in my turf, as an attempt to spread my army thin. You did a great job as expected of Igor's beloved ". Valier said in a thundering voice.
"I don't care what trivialities you have with your fellow devils, I'll ask again, send me home, I want to see my kids, everything in here is too unpalatable and nonsensical". Iode said with great anger in his words.
Within the black flames that envelopes his entire head, the mouth that was hidden beneath reveals itself, Valier has a crooked and malicious smile on his face.
"Foolish mortal, you are yet to complete your first trial, where I sent you is to see your capabilities, if you are actually worth it, but I've seen all I want, still, I'll keep an eye on you. On to your next location... And mind you, they won't be as easy as the one you just fought ". Valier said in a raspy voice.
"VALIER!!!" Iode yells, he attempts to jump on Valier but he was instantly teleported away.
"Lord, I'm sorry for prying, but you are not thinking of sending him to earth, right?" Valier's right lieutenant asks.
"Depends on his performance, I need someone who is not a demon to chaperone those brats"...
