Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Child in the Abyss

Chapter 1: The Child in the Abyss

Abyss of Seven Sins

Succubus Brood

A suffocating darkness blanketed the land.

The only source of light came from strange, glowing plants that emitted a soft violet hue, barely illuminating the twisted, cavernous landscape.

This was once the domain of the Demon King the Seventh Abyss, home to the succubus race.

But centuries ago, everything changed.

A hero, chosen by the gods themselves, descended into the demon world.

With divine blessing, the hero vanquished the Demon King and sealed the Abyss of Seven Sins in eternal darkness.

The succubi suffered greatly.

Their first generation was nearly wiped out, and the survivors were trapped forever imprisoned in the abyss, never to see the surface world again.

"Sisters! The Devil Fruits have ripened!"

A few succubi hovered near a jagged cliff, wings beating softly as they descended toward the glowing fruits clinging to the rock.

The seal left by the hero had corrupted the abyss, making food scarce and magic unstable.

Now, the succubus clan clung to survival, scavenging what they could in a crumbling world.

Elise, with her pale fingers, plucked a single Devil Fruit and dropped it into a basket made of twisted vines.

"Just one again..." she sighed.

Not nearly enough to meet the needs of the clan.

Her eyes drifted and then widened.

"...A cave?"

She tilted her head. That opening in the cliff wall she was certain it hadn't been there before.

"Elise! We have to go! A dark storm is coming!"

Her sisters, Alice and Lilith, landed beside her.

They were triplets nearly identical in appearance, distinguished only by their hairstyles and the subtle difference in their eye colors.

Elise didn't answer immediately. She was staring at the cave in the cliff.

Alice and Lilith followed her gaze.

"...That cave wasn't there before, was it?"

The three exchanged looks, their curiosity overwhelming their caution.

Without another word, they took flight gliding into the mouth of the cave together.

As they entered, a strange aroma drifted through the air.

It was sweet, seductive, almost intoxicating yet completely unfamiliar.

"Mm... smells delicious! Devil Fruits?" Lilith chirped, her curious nose twitching.

"No," Elise said, narrowing her eyes. "It's not any fruit I've smelled before. Not even the blood elixirs the Matriarch brews compare."

Alice's eyes gleamed. "Maybe we found something rare!"

"Or maybe it's a trap." Elise's voice was firm, protective. "Left behind by the Hero, perhaps."

The others nodded and stayed close.

The cave grew narrower and darker as they pushed deeper, until finally, they arrived at the source of the scent.

And froze.

Lying at the very heart of the cave was a human child.

"What... how is this possible?" Elise whispered.

The child looked no older than one. Fair skin, soft features, peacefully asleep.

Humans couldn't enter the abyss. That was the law of the seal.

And yet...

"Aww, he's adorable!" Lilith squealed, already at the baby's side, gently touching his round cheek.

Alice examined him. "A boy, I think."

Elise stayed back, face grave.

She ran a magical scan no energy. No traces of magic.

An ordinary human baby.

Which made his presence here even more terrifying.

"This shouldn't be possible," she muttered. "Someone had to have brought him here."

"Let's bring him back to the clan!" Alice said, lifting the boy into her arms. "We can let the elders decide what to do."

Elise hesitated, then nodded. "Alright. But be careful. This could change everything."

"Where... am I?"

Su Yang blinked open his eyes groggily, confused.

Soft... sweet smelling... warm?

Why did it feel like he was lying in a bed of flowers?

Wait a minute someone was holding him?

And not just anyone. Whoever it was... was flying.

Flying.

With him.

...With one hand?

One hand?!

Su Yang's heart nearly stopped.

Was this person a giant?!

Then he looked down at his own hands.

Tiny. Chubby. Soft.

...What the hell?!

He wasn't an adult anymore. He was a baby.

A pink cheeked, round faced baby!

"Did I... reincarnate?" he wondered, stunned.

Just then, a gentle voice drifted down from above.

"Oh ? The little guy's awake "

He craned his head upward and gasped.

A beautiful woman with long flowing hair, soft crimson eyes, and sharp devilish horns smiled lovingly at him.

She had wings.

She was flying.

And she was calling him little guy.

...What the hell kind of world did I wake up in?!
