Chapter 100

The musical ensemble, composed of older students from fifth, sixth, and seventh years under the guidance of Professor Flitwick, performed a beautiful piece.

Professor Flitwick, known throughout Hogwarts as the "kind professor," earned this nickname due to his stature—barely half a meter tall—but unlike Professor Snape, he possessed a gentle nature and was always willing to help his students.

The musicians carried frogs in their hands, which played a role in enhancing the rhythm and harmony of the performance, ensuring that no student made mistakes.

As the song concluded, the older students returned to their seats to continue the start-of-year banquet, where Headmaster Dumbledore would traditionally address them.

He rose and spoke:

"Welcome to another year at Hogwarts. I would like to share a few words..."

"Before we are all amazed by this wonderful feast..."

"First, I am pleased to welcome Professor Remus Lupin, who has kindly accepted the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Congratulations, Professor!"

Dumbledore paused, and the entire hall erupted into applause for the new professor.

Professor Lupin stood from the staff table, thanking everyone warmly for their welcome.

Dumbledore continued:

"Our Care of Magical Creatures professor has decided to retire to spend more time with his remaining companions. Fortunately, I am pleased to announce that his successor will be none other than... Rubeus Hagrid."

He gestured toward Hagrid, who sat beside Professor McGonagall on one side and Professor Flitwick on the other.

The hall erupted in applause for Hagrid on his new teaching appointment. Encouraged by McGonagall, Hagrid stood respectfully, but in his towering strength, he accidentally knocked over the plates and utensils on the table, causing the students to burst into laughter.

Ron and the others clapped enthusiastically for Hagrid, cheering him on.

"Yes! Finally, Hagrid is a professor!" Ron exclaimed.

"Indeed," Albert added. "He's been sad these past two years. I bet he's flying with joy now."

Everyone smiled at Hagrid's well-deserved promotion.

Dumbledore then addressed the hall more seriously:

"Finally, on a more serious note, and at the request of the Minister of Magic, until further notice, Hogwarts will be guarded by Azkaban wardens..."

"To ensure the capture of Sirius Black!!"

At the mention of Sirius Black, everyone exchanged cautious and curious glances, whispering about Albert Black in low tones.

Sirius's escape had spread across the wizarding world, making him the most wanted man. Many knew him as a follower of Voldemort who had also killed his close friend Peter Pettigrew.

Naturally, those at the banquet gave Albert Black wary looks, given his family connection to Sirius.

Dumbledore noticed the glances and continued:

"The wardens will be stationed at every entrance to the school. Rest assured, their presence will not interfere with daily activities."

"However, I warn you: Dementor wardens are not merciful. They will not distinguish between those they pursue and those in their path, so be cautious."

"Yet, you know, one can still find happiness even in the darkest of times, if only someone remembers to bring forth the light."

With that, Dumbledore concluded his speech, and the students indulged in the feast, enjoying the sweets and dishes before them.

Ron and Harry eagerly devoured plates of roast chicken, having nearly missed meals all day.

Albert was astonished at their appetite.

"What's wrong with you two? Have you eaten today or not?" Albert asked.

Harry continued eating without replying, while Ron explained:

"Well, a mouse caused trouble at home, and my mom punished me by skipping lunch today. I've been hungry since morning."

Albert understood the situation and noticed Harry's growing suspicion about his father, Sirius, leading Harry to distance himself temporarily.

Albert's gaze then fell on Peter Pettigrew, perched on Ron's table. Albert was torn between two decisions, each with significant consequences:

"Damn! I really don't know what to do with this traitor! Should I kill Peter Pettigrew now and prevent the ultimate scenario from unfolding, or let him live to clear my father's name? Damn, damn, damn! I'm really conflicted!"

He held his head, overwhelmed by the complexity of the situation, which drew Hermione's attention and curiosity.

As in the original story, Voldemort's return was made possible by Peter Pettigrew, who escaped the hands of Lupin and Sirius, requiring Harry's blood to complete the spell.

This left Albert uncertain whether to kill Pettigrew immediately or keep him alive to vindicate his father.

Finally, Albert set aside these thoughts, knowing that dwelling further would only complicate matters. He began to eat.

After a few hours, the students exited the banquet, mingling, talking, and occasionally tussling among themselves.

To be contined ...
