Ryan was nervous. Really nervous. Because tonight was his first real date with Hailey.
He'd planned it carefully: dinner at a quirky little diner, a walk in the park, and maybe, just maybe, a ukulele serenade (without any explosions this time).
The Outfit Fiasco
First challenge: choosing the perfect outfit.
Ryan stared at his closet full of royal suits and trendy clothes.
"I can't wear a crown on a date," he muttered.
He settled on a casual button-down shirt and jeans, but when he arrived, Hailey's eyes went wide.
"You're… dressed down. I like it."
Ryan beamed. "You mean, no tiara?"
Hailey laughed. "Thank goodness."
Dinner Drama
Dinner started well until Ryan tried to impress Hailey with a joke about princes and peas.
Hailey just blinked. "Are you serious?"
Ryan shrugged. "Royal humor, you wouldn't get it."
Then, as he reached for his drink, he knocked over the salt shaker, sending salt crystals everywhere—on the table, their food, and Hailey's lap.
"Smooth," Hailey teased, grabbing napkins.
Ryan grinned. "I'm like a walking soap opera."
Park Walk and Ukulele Redemption
The park was peaceful, moonlight casting soft glows on the path.
Ryan pulled out his ukulele, fingers trembling.
This time, the song was sweet and simple.
Hailey's eyes softened, and when he finished, she clapped gently.
"That was… really nice."
Ryan smiled shyly. "I'm full of surprises."
They walked home under the stars, closer than before.
