Chapter 129 - FTRJ: Chapter 129

"Carla, let's hurry and catch up!" Wendy urged, her voice filled with a sense of urgency.

Immediately following Wendy's statement, she produced her own magical tool. "And I've also mastered the use of this magical device," she announced proudly.

Shortly thereafter, Finn and his companions arrived at the designated location where the airship had landed, only to find themselves confronted by a sizable contingent of Royal Army soldiers.

"Halt! Who goes there?!"

Finn and his companions were immediately spotted by the vigilant Royal Army soldiers upon their approach.

"That emblem… it's the Fairy Tail dark guild!" one of the soldiers exclaimed, his voice laced with alarm as he recognized the distinctive guild emblem emblazoned upon their attire.

"Seize them!"

"Don't let them escape!"

A cacophony of shouts and commands erupted from the soldiers' ranks.

A large number of soldiers, each armed with a magic gun, charged towards Finn and his companions.

"Excellent!" Finn roared, his entire body erupting in a fiery blaze as he dramatically accelerated his pace.

In the blink of an eye, he had plunged into the heart of the throng of soldiers.

BOOM—

A tremendous explosion of fire erupted, sending countless soldiers soaring into the air like ragdolls. It was a scene of utter devastation, reminiscent of a wolf tearing through a flock of sheep.

In a single, decisive strike, Finn had completely annihilated all enemies within a fifty-meter radius.

However, mindful of the magical airship positioned directly ahead, Finn exercised restraint, carefully controlling the intensity of his attack. He dared not risk causing any damage to the airship, for if he were to inadvertently destroy it, he would be left with nothing but regret.

Observing Finn's awe-inspiring display of power as he carved a path of destruction through the ranks of the soldiers, and witnessing the heart-wrenching cries of the soldiers who were tossed about like mere playthings in the air, the remaining Royal Army soldiers couldn't help but recoil slightly, their resolve faltering.

"Wh-what in the world was that…?"

"Why… why was he engulfed in flames?!"

"Mon-monster… that's a monster!"

"I've never… never heard of such a being in all my years!"

The Royal Army soldiers' voices were laced with an unmistakable tone of terror.

"There's another Fairy Tail mage here! It's Lucy! Seize her first!" A shout pierced the air, its source unknown.

The Royal Army soldiers, their courage shattered by Finn's overwhelming display of power, instantly shifted their attention towards Lucy, who stood nearby.

"Huh?" Lucy exclaimed, her voice laced with confusion as she had only just emerged from her hiding place.

As she surveyed the throng of Royal Army soldiers rapidly closing in on her, a smirk spread across her lips.

"Don't underestimate me, you fools! I'm Fairy Tail's second strongest mage, after all!" she declared, her voice ringing with confidence.

With a flourish, she produced a key exquisitely engraved with the image of a lion.

From behind her, Wendy's voice rang out, her words laced with encouragement. "Go get 'em, Lucy!"

The three Exceeds joined in, offering their own words of support and encouragement.

Lucy reveled in the attention, basking in the feeling of being regarded as a powerful mage. It was, indeed, a rather satisfying experience.

With a confident flourish, she extended her hand, holding the key aloft. "Open, Gate of the Leo Zodiac, Loke!" she commanded.

Clang—

A brilliant golden light erupted from the key, and to Lucy's eager anticipation, Virgo materialized before her.

Lucy's expression froze, her face a mask of disbelief.

"Ah… what in the world…?" Lucy exclaimed, her voice laced with a mixture of confusion and bewilderment.

"I sincerely apologize, Princess," Virgo stated formally, her voice devoid of any emotion.

"What on Earth is going on here?!" Lucy demanded, her voice rising in frustration.

"My brother is currently indisposed, as he's on a date at the moment, and therefore, I'm unable to summon him," Virgo explained, her tone remaining unwavering.

"Bro… brother?" Lucy's mind struggled to process the unexpected information.

Virgo turned her gaze towards Lucy, her expression impassive. "Yes, Lord Loke has instructed me to address him as such."

Observing the relentless advance of the Royal Army soldiers, Lucy's composure finally crumbled. "Is that idiot actually serious? What on Earth am I supposed to do now?!" she cried out in despair.

"Princess, if I may be so bold as to offer my humble opinion…" Virgo's eyes narrowed, her expression hardening.

Lucy's eyes widened in anticipation. "You mean…" she whispered, her voice laced with a hint of hope.

"I'm even capable of performing a dance, if the situation calls for it," Virgo declared, her body beginning to sway rhythmically to an unseen beat.

Both the opposing Royal Army soldiers and Lucy's allies fell into a stunned silence.

Nancy turned to Happy, her voice laced with a mixture of amusement and disbelief. "Is this what they call Fairy Tail's second strongest mage?" she whispered.

Happy and the others were completely speechless, their faces frozen in expressions of utter shock.

"What are you all standing around for?! Seize them immediately!" the Royal Army squad leader bellowed, his voice cutting through the stunned silence.

Instantly, the soldiers surrounding Lucy surged forward, their movements swift and decisive.

"You lot, I'm your opponent!" Natsu roared, charging headlong into the fray.

"Natsu!" Happy's spirits soared, his hope rekindled by Natsu's sudden intervention.

However, his renewed hope was quickly dashed as Natsu was sent flying backward with a single, powerful blow.

"Attack! Annihilate them!" The Royal Army soldiers, their morale bolstered by Natsu's swift defeat, renewed their assault with renewed vigor.

BOOM—

A massive explosion of fire erupted, engulfing the soldiers who had just moments before surrounded Lucy and her companions. A deafening explosion shook the ground, sending countless figures hurtling through the air.

"Wow, Finn's still the most reliable!" Happy exclaimed, his voice filled with unrestrained admiration.

As the flames gradually subsided, Finn slowly rose to his feet, his expression calm and composed.

Behind him, not a single soldier remained standing, the ground littered with the wreckage of their failed assault.

After assessing his magical energy reserves and noting the slow rate of regeneration, Finn let out a weary sigh.

"This agonizingly slow rate of magical energy regeneration is truly quite bothersome," he muttered under his breath.

He then turned his attention towards Lucy and Virgo, who was still engaged in her impromptu dance performance, a bead of sweat trickling down his temple. "What in the world was that supposed to be? Some kind of novel combat technique?" he inquired, his voice laced with a mixture of amusement and bewilderment.

"Were you actually attempting to defeat your opponents by making them laugh themselves to death?" he added, his tone laced with incredulity.

"Waaaaahhhhh~~" Lucy burst into tears, her face buried in her hands, overcome with embarrassment.

"This is so humiliating! This is so incredibly humiliating!" she wailed.

Finn turned his gaze towards the massive airship, his expression resolute. "Alright then, let's get going!" he declared.

With those words, he took the lead, striding confidently towards the airship.

"Lucy, please try to compose yourself. If you continue to cry, we'll be gone before you know it!" Happy called out, his voice laced with concern as he watched Lucy's continued display of distress.

"Wait! Don't leave me behind!" Lucy cried out, her voice laced with panic and desperation as she hastily wiped away her tears.

Aboard the magical airship, Finn narrowed his eyes, his gaze fixated upon the control panel.

"I say, you wouldn't happen to have forgotten to leave someone behind to pilot this vessel, would you?" he inquired, his voice laced with a hint of suspicion.

Nancy, observing Finn's unwavering focus on the control panel, seemed to have grasped the situation.

"No way…" Wendy whispered, her smile faltering slightly as the gravity of the situation dawned upon her.

Finn abruptly turned his attention towards Lucy, his expression serious. "Speaking of which, Lucy, you do possess Gemini, don't you? Why don't you summon Gemini and have it create a duplicate of one of the soldiers to pilot the airship?" he suggested.

"Are you completely out of your mind?! There are nearly a thousand soldiers lying unconscious on the ground outside. How on Earth am I supposed to know which one of them was the pilot?" Lucy exclaimed, her voice laced with incredulity as she stared at Finn with a mixture of bewilderment and exasperation.

"Perhaps we could try testing each one of them individually?" Finn suggested, his voice laced with a hint of playful mischief.

"That's utterly impossible! I simply don't possess that kind of magical energy!" Lucy retorted, vehemently shaking her head.

"Honestly, why didn't you leave a pilot behind?" Finn inquired, his voice laced with a mixture of frustration and bewilderment.

Finn shrugged his shoulders helplessly. "There wasn't a single soul aboard the airship when I boarded it. It's quite possible that they disembarked while it was still docked," he explained.

"And as you're all well aware, since they disembarked before I arrived, there's no way for me to ascertain which of those individuals was the pilot," he added.

"Besides, they were all dressed in identical uniforms," Finn pointed out, gesturing towards the ground below, where numerous soldiers lay unconscious, all clad in the same attire.

"Then what on Earth are we supposed to do now?" Lucy cried out, her hands clasped to her head in despair.

Suddenly, Finn's gaze shifted towards the end of the street.

"It seems someone is approaching!" he announced.

At Finn's words, everyone turned their attention towards the end of the street.

A fiery red magical car came speeding towards them, its engine roaring.

The Fairy Tail guild mark, emblazoned upon the car's side, seemed to dance and shimmer in the sunlight as the vehicle sped towards them.

"It's a Fairy Tail magic car!" Happy exclaimed, his voice filled with a mixture of surprise and excitement.

The roar of the magical car's engine grew steadily louder as it approached.

Finally, with a remarkably stylish drift, the car came to a stop directly in front of Finn and his companions.

"You must be the individuals from Earthland that Miss Lucy mentioned," a familiar voice announced, causing a wave of surprise to ripple through the group.

Their gazes turned towards Natsu, their expressions a mixture of curiosity and anticipation.
