I bit down on my lip so hard I forgot even to breathe. Xavier's gaze sharpened instantly, his hand slipping to my mouth, sliding two fingers between my lips.
"Shh… breathe now." His voice was soft, steady, as below he inched deeper, bit by agonizing bit.
"Relax, it's okay. Wrap your arms around me, I won't let you fall."
His command slipped into me like instinct. My arms rose without thought, clinging to his shoulders as if they were the only ground I had left.
"Good Highness." The reverence in his voice was both tender and devastating.
The unexpected endearment made me shudder.
"Fuck—" Xander's teeth grazed my ear, his growl vibrating through my skin. "I can feel you coming in."
