"I have faced gods and storms, but nothing has ever terrified me more than the thought of losing you. If the tides must rise, let them rise so long as you are the shore I return to."
MORKAI'S POV
The wind whispered of war, and I stood on the high ramparts of the Pearl Castle, my eyes on the horizon where sky met sea. The early light of dawn barely touched the edges of the water, but I could already feel its power churning beneath the surface, ancient and ravenous. The Deep One was stirring, and below me, the castle thrummed with urgency. Armoured guards moved through the halls with purpose, warding spells being drawn into the stone with glowing runes by the mages of the inner circle. The tides themselves had shifted in temperament. The sea knew what was coming, and I clenched my fists against the stone. "He's coming," I murmured to no one. "And this time… he wants everything."
