SOPHIE'S POV
I immediately jerked up from my bed when I heard the knock on the door and hastly walked over the door to open it my heart was not working properly this time cause I can't practically hear it beating "bum,bim,bim " it was quiet .
I opened the door and my gaze fell on Micheal ,he was visible annoyed at first but when he seemed to take a close glance at me he looked worried .. "morning " I muttered at least high enough to hear me .
" Sophia , I told you about the hangover ... so what happened to I can handle myself''he said mimicking the words I said last night as a walked into the house uninvited and took a seat ,he seemed to make me click back on last night which was part of what I remembered at least most of it ...
" Am , sorry um... am I allowed to take a leave for today like take an excuse or something am too tired and we are late already " I said visible tired with a puppy eye so at least he could consider calling in for me since he seems close to my boss ,it won't be that much of a problem ...
" I don't know how to say this but breaks are not allowed at the office unless of course you are dead ,which you are not .... " Michael said ...
" Michael please am so tired I don't think I can focus at work today my head is killing me already"
I know I am the proud type but I don't think I can focus at work today but mostly because I was late and I know how Ethan can be when I am late and last time didn't go well...
" Am sorry Sophia , I can't seem to be of help on this one and we all know how Ethan can be .. but I can give you less stress talk with him by saying I caused it but your hangover isn't helping " he said looking sincerely concerned I have never seen him this concerned before .
" Fine but I don't want any body taking blames for me okay ' I said with a serious face I really wasn't a fan of people taking blames for me I had rather face it than just shove it aside .
" this is just me trying to help soph " he said cutting my name short which is kinda cute but naa I will pass that .
" David I insist , okay so am gonna go take a shower real quick and get ready . what would you like.. coffee or tea ? I said slightly turning to face him .
" anything is good soph just don't get me a black coffee ''he said which made me to chuckle then it clicked to me that he has shortened my name twice ,I decided to play along .
" okay DAV on it " I said an turned to get it ... I added a little bit of Creame and more of milk on it since I didn't know how he liked his coffee yeah that's what am making .
I walked over to him and him " here ...'' he took it with a smile and muttered" thank you " almost like he was talking to himself ...
"your wel... " before I could finish he cut me off " oh my gosh, what in the name of coffee is this you made me"
" sorry ,I didn't know how you want it ,does it taste that bad " I was practically hurt cause I never made a bad coffee ever !
" No , silly it's so good " he said with a smile
I let out a long sign I didn't realize I was holding in " humph that was close ,I thought I made the worse coffee thanks to you for being too dramatic huh"
" whatever,just go get ready... I already have a feeling that am getting fired right now " he said absent mindedly but I heard him correctly . Am so gonna be done for when I get to that office I can tell with the way I wasn't breathing properly but I pushed the thought of being fired aside,I spent over to the bathroom took my normal shower I didn't bother to use my skincare products not when a late for work .
I applied a light make up and some touch knop here and there I wasn't rushing though,I mean am already late there's nothing I can do about it now.. I went over to the parlour to meet Micheal prying ..naa I shouldn't call it prying he was looking at the photos I hang my pictures he seemed kind of curious with the way he was looking at it " hey ...um am ready ,we should be going yeah!
" yeah right , that's a nice pics you got there soph'' he said as he held my door open for my to walk out .. which I found as a cute gesture like he always said he was just being a gentleman.
The drive to the office didn't take long as usual maybe because the road wasn't stacked up as usual with people who are going to work.
Immediately Micheal pulled over,I opened the door like I normally did ready to slam it then he muttered " hey , you are gonna be okay yeah , my offer is still up if you want me to cover up for you ...?
" Michael c'mon am good" I said visible lying I wasn't anywhere near okay talk more of good... he didn't say anything he just gave me one of his small smile and zoomed off over the parking lot to park his car ... I just took a deep breath and started walking over to the elevator , my hands was visible sweaty ... I could swear it was dripping cause I was more than scared this time ... immeditely the elevator door dinged open ... my heart fell to my mouth when I saw the devil's trap ,I was falling into ,it was the office hallway just a few steps to face my doom but I stopped halfway a thought came to my mind " maybe I should just feign dead or something cause this was more than hell or better still just go home ... yeah that's what I should probably do " going home " I took a step to move back to the elevator when my eyes fell on him he was right behind me .
" what were you planning to do Sophia " his words hit like I was being stabbed ... " oh shit can today get any worse , I swear I would never drink when I have work'' i could tell that i wasn't breathing and the sweat in my hands was trying to betray me " oh God " now I know what it's like to which for the ground to open and swallow me ...
