By the time Jayvaughn finished his bath and changed into his soft cotton pajamas, the apartment was quiet except for the faint hum of the night outside. He stepped out of the bedroom with a towel in hand, rubbing his damp hair dry as he walked toward the dining area.
What he saw there made him pause.
Axel had fallen asleep while waiting for him to finish his bath. He was curled up in one of the dining chairs, head resting against the backrest, his lips slightly parted, his breathing soft and even. The sight made something warm settle in Jayvaughn's chest. He could not help but feel that Axel was directly attacking his heart with his cuteness. There was something disarming about seeing him like this—unguarded, peaceful, almost childlike. Jayvaughn's lips curved into the faintest smile.
