After Axel introduced Marlon to the gang members, the group dispersed, and Axel signaled Logan and Marlon to follow him into the underground office. The dim lighting and thick concrete walls offered privacy for the real conversation. They sat around the large table in the center of the room, deep in strategy talk. After almost an hour of intense discussion, eliminating impractical ideas and refining the more viable ones, they began to feel some progress.
Axel finally leaned back, feeling a bit satisfied. He pulled out his phone to check for updates, but the moment his eyes met the screen, his body tensed.
"Fuck," he muttered under his breath.
Marlon, seated beside him, raised a brow. "Big brother, what is it?"
Axel shot up from his chair, already striding toward the exit. "I'm twenty minutes late picking Jaimie up from school."
