Evening sunlight filtered through the apartment windows when Jaimie finally stirred from his long nap. Axel, who had been completely engrossed in one of Dayonna's BL comic books, sighed dramatically and closed the book with visible reluctance. His fingers hovered over the page he'd left off on—it ended on a cruel cliffhanger that had his heart pounding and his cheeks slightly pink. He made a mental promise to return to it later that night.
But for now, he had a promise to fulfill.
"Time to go shopping, little man," Axel said, standing up and ruffling Jaimie's hair affectionately.
Jaimie rubbed his sleepy eyes and blinked up at Axel. "Are we going now?" he asked, his voice still laced with drowsiness.
Axel nodded with a smile. "Yep. You didn't think I'd forget, did you?"
