Kai sat on the edge of his bed, the weight of the night pressing down on him like a suffocating fog. The Watchers' warning echoed in his mind, but the questions swirling inside were louder.
Who were they?
What did they mean by balance?
And most importantly, what power did he truly hold?
His fingers absentmindedly traced the scar on his wrist a faint, jagged line he had ignored for years. It was a mark he never understood, something his mother had always warned him to keep hidden.
Suddenly, a faint glow pulsed beneath the skin of the scar. His breath caught.
The room seemed to darken, shadows stretching and twisting as if alive.
Before Kai could react, his phone buzzed sharply on the nightstand.
A message from an unknown number:
"The blood remembers. Find the gate before they do."
His heart thundered. This was no coincidence.
Kai knew then that his past was not as buried as he believed. The bloodline that flowed through his veins was a legacy ancient and dangerous.
