After breakfast, Setsuna had to go because she had classes to teach for the rest of the day. Madara, Kagari and Yuril did the dishes. After that, Kagari got his reward and his father taught him a pretty complex sequence of movements. They spent some time correcting his stance, footwork and timing, but he got it pretty quickly. Madara's eyes shone with pride. He had taught a lot of the clan's kids before, and he saw that Kagari was clearly a prodigy just like the rest of his family. They would need to start teaching him to mold and control his chakra really soon, because the raw energy he was emitting was already strong enough to do so. Once he was good enough, they left him on the engawa away from the sun so that he could practice the sequence until perfection. They moved to the garden near him to spar together. Yuril's taijutsu was on par with his, even when she didn't use her chakra enhanced strength, and they had a fun time. Kagari was clearly fascinated, and after a while he stopped his practice to cheer on them, and he kept alternating to always be on the winning's side. Once it was time to prepare lunch, Yuril went to the kitchen, while an "angry" Madara punished his son with an additional two hours of practicing the sequence, because he had stopped before they told him he could. They loved to spoil him, but if they went too easy on him he would never learn discipline, and that might cost him his life. He was destined to be a shinobi after all
After lunch, Madara left for his office, because the Civil Administration Office wanted to meet with him to discuss the next season's budget. Kagari was too tired to run around like usual, and Yuril let him nap for an hour, before she woke him to finish his second hour of punishment under her severe gaze. Once he was done, she took him for a stroll around the compound and even to his favorite juice stand, as a reward for being obedient. They finished their day in her office at the hospital, where he drew many incomprehensible things on the stack of paper she gave him, while she went over her own budget proposal. Being Madara's sister meant that she had plenty of ways to get him to cough up the extra funding they needed for their new research projects. Around sunset time, she heard a soft knock on her door. Tajima came in, and once Kagari saw him, he jumped on him.
"Jiji! I am staying with you tonight! Let's go, I need to show you my cool new katas!"
Tajima chuckled and picked him up. He and Yuril exchanged a few words because they hadn't seen each other in a while. Tajima was still as laid back as ever, but she could see the disapproval in his eyes as clear as day. She was twenty one years old, and still showed no signs of wanting to settle down. Tajima was a traditionalist, even if he didn't force his kids to be like him, and he was displeased at a lot of the life choices his children had made. Still, they had no arguing in front of Kagari rule, and so they kept things polite. They left the office together, and separated at the entrance. Yuril went to her dinner, while Tajima asked her to let the couple know that they could have their house to themselves for the rest of the night and come pick up Kagari in the morning, since he had freed up all his evening to spend with his grandchild.
They were having dinner at the bar. She was the first one there, and went to the booth her employees had reserved for them. Madara and Setsuna were next, and finally Izuna and Uchiha Aoko made their appearance. The girl had the classic Uchiha traits, black hair and eyes with fair skin. She was also pretty, but not in the same way as Izuna's usual conquests. She was quite tall, with wide shoulders, a developed musculature, and a slim figure. Her hair was in pixie haircut, different from the usual long hair that the Uchiha liked. Her fashion sense was similar to Yuril, as she wore a sleeveless beige kimono style blouse, that showed her ample cleavage with a black belt and black capris, but instead of the heels, she wore regular shinobi sandals, and she didn't wear the bright red lipstick and nail polish. Still, the resemblance would make a psychiatrist frown a little bit, but they had all promised to keep an open mind and their opinions to themselves. Her most striking feature was her vibrant and wild eyes, so different from the usual seductiveness they were used to in Izuna's girls.
Once the introductions were made, they sat down and ordered their drinks first. It took Aoko less than ten minutes to charm them all. She fit quite well into their group. Izuna's siblings wasted no time in starting their interrogation, but she was confident and answered them with a slightly amused smile. The fact that she wasn't acting meekly just to ingratiate herself with the most powerful people of the clan, and that she wasn't too intimidated by them, was a point in her favor. They got to know her a little bit better over dinner. She was an only child, and her mother had died when she was seven. Her father had never remarried and raised her on his own. He was an outstanding shinobi, and they all remembered his name when she mentioned it. He had been crippled a few years back, but thanks to the changes in the clan, he found a job in one of the clan's warehouse, and thus his family was saved from poverty. His daughter had wanted to honor him, and since he had trained her all her life, she was able to become a middle ranked kunoichi, but she clearly hoped for more later.
She also finally told them the story of how she and Izuna had met. She had been a part of a unit he had led during one of their raids near the border. He had saved her life, and she bought him drinks to thank him. Both of them had gotten so drunk, that they somehow ended up in bed. After that, she tried to keep their relationship strictly professional because she feared that people would accuse her of sleeping her way to the top, but Izuna was insistent and she had a bit of a crush on him, and so they started seeing each other in secret. After she finally got her middle-rank promotion through exploits in the battle field, she deemed that she had proven herself enough, and allowed him to make their relationship public.
It was heartwarming to see them together, and Yuril had finally let go of her worries about her twin. He was clearly smitten, unable to keep his eyes away from her for too long, and she returned his feelings with just as much intensity. Their whole open relationship thingy was just a lie they kept telling themselves to avoid facing the fact that they had changed. Once these two settle down together, she would deem that she had fulfilled her promise to Himiko. She had never forgotten, even if she mostly acted the way she did because she loved her brothers more than anything. They, and their little families, were the center of her life, and it looked like she might need to make space for another person now. Yuril had long since given up on trying to build this type of happiness for herself. Touko, who was still the only one who knew the whole truth about her, still insisted that she at least give it a chance, but Yuril felt that she was mentally too messed up to be able to do so. She found her happiness through her brothers and that was enough for her.
Dinner ended on a happy note.
