Chapter 4 - Chapter Four

Learning about Ari

 Ariana Pov

I stared at the new place I was in, everything seemed different. It was beautiful, the air felt different. And the pain Alex inflicted on me, I didn't feel it anymore.

I walked around hoping I wasn't the only one here after all I'm here to find out about the character 'Aria' and then a girl passed by. Her eyes seemed distant, her hair scattered and her dress torn. Her Legs were bleeding but she wasn't wearing sandals. She just kept walking forward absentminded and then I decided to follow her.

We kept walking and walking until we came across a building and then she stopped. It felt as if she knew I was here. She turned back and that's when I saw her face.

 She was the one.

 She was Aria.

A smile appeared on her face and that's when I heard the system's voice again. "close your eyes, the character will only tell you the story in her own perspective".

 Aria's Pov

I woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside my window, a bright smile spreading across my face. It was my birthday, and I was beyond excited. Eighteen today, an adult, and maybe, just maybe, I'd receive the ultimate gift – my wolf.

But my parents weren't around to share in my joy. They had left early that morning to help the neighboring village with the war. I didn't mind, though. Mom had promised we'd celebrate tonight, and I couldn't wait.

I walked around as the pack house was in chaos…after all it was my birthday.

"My lady, good morning" a maid bowed as I nodded my head responding to her greetings.

I stared at the pack house in admiration, one day I would be an alpha too.

My mother…Miranda was an alpha and so was my father Damien Costivo, which made me have pure alpha blood.

They said alpha's were powerful and born to be rulers but I'm a wolfless alpha.

A sigh escaped my lips as I stared at the name carving on the pack house…"Brownville pack". My father had taken up the responsibility of an alpha when he was 18 and I was hoping I could to.

I walked back to my room trying out different birthday dresses prepared for me. As I daydreamed, my personal maid, Nelly, burst into my room. "Miss, your parents are back!" she exclaimed, out of breath. "But—"

I dashed out of the room not caring about the remaining details, Nelly hot on my heels, calling out my name. I came to a stop in front of my parents' room, my hand raised to knock. But something made me hesitate.

My parents were arguing. I had never heard them raise their voices at each other before. I leaned in, my ear pressed against the door, and listened.

"When are you going to tell her?" my mom's voice was laced with desperation.

My heart skipped a beat as I listened to their conversation.

"When are you going to tell her that she's leaving us, that she won't have a wolf today, that she's getting betrothed to the alpha of the Silver Moon pack?" My mom's words were choked with tears.

"I'm finding it hard to tell her, honey. I'll miss her too; she's my daughter." My dad replied with a calm voice, but laced with sadness.

"No, she isn't. If she were, you wouldn't arrange the marriage to their pack in exchange for protection." My mom's scream pierced the air, and I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces.

"You're talking like she's you biological daughter, like I don't care for her too" my dad replied raising his voice.

I stumbled backward, my eyes wide with shock, as my mom ran out of the room, tears streaming down her face.

We collided in the doorway, and I stared up at her, my voice barely above a whisper. "it's a lie, right?.... I'm your daughter and you are my mom? " I mumbled, like some silly child...

 I had been lied to.

 for so many years.

My mom's eyes filled with tears, but she couldn't answer. Or maybe she tried to but I didn't want to hear it anyway. With that I turned and ran, the sound of my own sobs echoing through the hallway.

I ran until my legs ached and my lungs burned. I didn't know where I was going; I just knew I had to get away. Away from the pain, away from the lies, away from the betrayal.

As I emerged from the forest, I saw the village in the distance. I didn't want to go back there, I didn't want to face anyone. But I had nowhere else to go.

I wandered aimlessly, my mind reeling with questions. Why had my parents arranged this marriage without telling me? Why had they lied to me my whole life?. I would be wolfless forever.

As the sun began to set, I stumbled upon a small stream. I collapsed onto the grassy bank, exhausted and emotionally drained.

I stared blankly at the water, my thoughts consumed by the truth my parents hid. I was betrothed to the alpha of the Silver Moon pack. A pack known for their brutality and ruthlessness.

A shiver ran down my spine as I wondered what my future held. Would I be able to escape this arranged marriage? Or would I be trapped forever, forced to submit to the whims of a man I had never met?

A sigh escaped my lips as I looked up to the stars as they began to twinkle in the night sky, I knew I had to make a decision. I could run, try to escape the fate that had been laid out for me. Or I could face it head-on, try to make the best of a bad situation. Or I could ask my parents why they chose to hide the truth.

But as I stood up, brushing off my skirts, I knew I couldn't do it alone. I needed help, needed someone to trust…but was there anyone?.

And that's when I remembered the rumors of a secret group, a group of rebels who opposed the Silver Moon pack. Maybe, just maybe, they could help me escape this nightmare.

Or I could pretend to go along with the marriage and kill my husband myself.

But for now I would play the part of a forgiving and obedient daughter, a dutiful bride and a responsible Luna while I wait, watch and plan my revenge.
