[Damien's Mansion—Later]
Elle's legs wobbled like she'd just run a marathon. In reality, she'd only taken three steps out of Damien's car.
Her eyes traveled upward, and upward, and even more upward—until she nearly broke her neck. The mansion loomed in front of her like some royal palace, glinting beneath the morning sun.
Elle clutched Damien's arm and hissed under her breath, "THIS ISN'T A HOUSE; THIS IS A DAMN KINGDOM. Did you forget to tell me your grandmother is the Supreme Leader of Earth?"
Damien chuckled, fixing his cufflinks with maddening calm. "Relax, Elle. She's just my grandmother."
Elle narrowed her eyes, whisper-screaming, "JUST your grandmother? JUST? Do you realize I am about to face the woman who raised YOU? That's not a grandmother—that's a boss fight!"
Before Damien could reply, the mansion doors opened. Two guards bowed, and the butler announced, "Young Master Damien, welcome home. Madam is waiting inside."
Elle nearly fainted on the spot.
