Chapter 36 - impending,looming

Just as Nora began to understand calculus was when Ms.Dellis decided to move onto what Nora could only assume was rocket science.

"The angle at which an object is launched matters a lot for beginners-" when Dellis turned around she smiled.

"It seems most of the class is stumped?" A certain injured girl was eager too agree but was promptly gagged with note book paper.

"Well it's to be expected, you bunch aren't the brightest," she paced before opening the door letting in an influx of guards.

"Lucky for you children, that the country can help even the.. slowest of learners."

Dellis moved to the front of the class as two rows of guards stood at attention near the doors and windows.

"Come on everyone, I have something incredible to show you." She twirled toward the door at the cusp of skipping.

The mark on Nora's thigh felt warmer all of a sudden.

The class was guided down the halls by the stern looking guards all the way to Room 33.

The whole class came to a hasty stop as Ms.Dellis took the time to gaze lovingly at the room.

A classroom with walls painted black was crowded with people, smoke lingered through near the corners of the wall before dissipating.

Colorful spheres were spread out among the crowd with many crowding around and shouting.

Near the wall was a couch with people chatting idly.

A girl was trying to hand over bright purple stones to a young man who was very adamant on not taking them.

The smoke lifted to show indigo sporting a grey hoodie seemingly arguing with the eager woman holding gems.

"I don't need those, I already told you yesterday I'm busy Tuesday and I can't do it." He pushed them toward her harshly this time and she scowled

"Oh come on! You don't have any other appointments I checked, what's the big deal?"

The brunette woman crossed her legs her slacks folding into each other.

"there isn't anything major happening today anyways, why not make a quick buck?"her scowl was instantly replaced with a smile

"Unless...maybe you know something I don't?"

She leaned until she was uncomfortablly close.

"You remember your freshman year clo?"

She winced

"Ugh, hardly." She slumped on the couch with a huff.

"Well, you surely remember your classes 'new arrival', you wouldn't stop talking about him." She perked up then stared at Indigo.

"Oh shit you're a freshman right? You're gonna go through hell!" She stuck a finger in his face to cackle.

"...nah, but my sister is." She stopped to stare at him

"Huh! But I swore I heard different.." her pale blue eyes lit up as a scale appeared behind her

"Are...you lying to her?" She relaxed as she waited for an answer ready to see where the scale would tip.

"I'm not playing this game with you right now, I just wanted to know what could help her."

Indigo couldn't help but cringe at that and look up at the jet black ceiling.

'The things I do for this brat..'
