Chapter 6 - Chapter 43- The Entertainments in the Human Realm

While the Top-grade flying ship distance itself from the Su Continent at a moderate speed, An Mo and Xai Lin had finally chosen a room on the top floor of the pavilion after An Mo insisted on looking at every room.

The room wasn't excessively large, and like the simple outer design of the pavilion, the room had a minimal design with a single bed near the window along with two tables, a wardrobe filled with clothes, and a packed bookshelf.

One thing that should be mentioned was that the windows were plain glass, rather than the wooden kind. This was also one of the reasons why Su Jin thought the pavilion had a modern design.

As for a bathroom, cultivators had plenty of ways to remain clean, not to mention even cultivators in the Qi Gathering Realm would metabolize the food they ate to the point they didn't even need to use the restroom. However, there was still an open-air hot spring-like on the first floor, where one could soak in water that was rich in Spiritual Qi, while admiring the view outside the flying ship.

After An Mo entered the room, he began hopping around and observing everything in detail.

Xai Lin closed the door behind her and shook her head in helplessness when he saw An Mo like this.

Actually, this was the room she frequently used during this past year after leaving her Sect and traveling. It was also the first room they had come to before An Mo clamored to see the others and maybe choose a better one. But in the end, they eventually came back to this one.

Xai Lin watched as An Mo tested the white blanketed bed by jumping on it, before moving on to the bookshelf to flip through a few books.

Seeing that he had become engrossed in a particular book, Xai Lin raised her eyebrows and went over to curiously take a look.

"Which book are you reading?"

"Hm?"

An Mo snapped out of it and glanced at Xai Lin who was approaching, before turning back to look at the book while saying in a cheerful tone.

"Actually, I can't understand a single word of this thing!"

Xai Lin's steps almost faltered when she heard that, but then An Mo added.

"However, I found one that also has pictures, and it's quite interesting. What is it?"

An Mo spread the book wide open to show Xai Lin who had stopped next to him.

Xai Lin took a look and immediately felt quite amused.

"This is a type of graphic novel, however, unlike the ones in the past that only has a few pictures while mainly composed of texts, this one tells a story using images while the words only served as dialogues between the characters."

Xai Lin really wanted to say this was called a manga, but she knew An Mo wouldn't understand. So, she could only explain it like this.

After listening to Xai Lin's explanation, An Mo nodded in understanding and then said.

"It's really interesting, and the drawings are so realistic."

An Mo continued to skipped the pages and eventually landed on a two-page spread that caused his golden eyes to lit up, while amazed exclamations slipped out.

"Whoa! Amazing!"

The two-page spread was of two people clashing together with their swords in what looked like a mountain valley. Even though it was just a black and white drawing, the lines that outline the shockwave of the impact of their swords clashing, along with the resulting effects on the surrounding valley, was so detailed that An Mo almost felt like he was actually watching two powerful human cultivators clashing right in front of him.

He was so mesmerized, it took him a full three minutes of staring before he was satisfied and turn the page.

Seeing that he was so engrossed, Xai Lin smiled and said.

"If you like it that much, its best if you start from the first volume. What you're reading right now is the fourth, and that scene in particular is quite a bit of spoiler."

Upon hearing that, An Mo's eyes widen slightly, and he hurriedly slam the book shut.

Glaring at Xai Lin, An Mo said indignantly.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

It turns out that, despite being two completely different worlds, with vastly different logic and norms, the people in the cultivation world still hate being spoiled, or at least this childish Dao Companion of hers hated it.

Xai Lin forcefully held back her laughter, and said.

"It's not much of a spoiler to you since you can't even read their dialogue."

After saying that, Xai Lin turned to the bookshelf and picked out over a dozen books.

An Mo, who was given these books, worked well to balance them in his arms without showing any dissatisfaction.

After Xai Lin was done picking out books, she turned to An Mo and gestured to the pile of books in his arms while saying.

"From this section to this one, consists of materials to learn our Human Race's language, and from here to here can teach you our number system."

Seeing that Xai Lin had pointed at all the books, An Mo raised his eyebrows and asked.

"What about those graphic novels?"

Xai Lin smiled and said while gesturing to the entire shelf behind her.

"All the books remaining on this shelf are graphic novels, some short and some long. After you finish learning the language and number system, you can read as much as you like."

As An Mo looked at the bookshelf that took up this entire side of the room, and the tens of books on it, his eyes got brighter and brighter. To think there would be so many of those graphic novels, it felt like he had suddenly stumbled upon a vast treasure trove stuffed with priceless artifacts!

"This is amazing! The Human Realm really knows how to keep themselves entertained!"

Xai Lin chuckled at this then said while turning to walk towards her wardrobe.

"Welcome to the world of graphic novels fellow traveler. Just remember to give your feedback on each one of them."

Upon hearing this, An Mo snapped out of his excitement and he turned to look at Xai Lin's back with a confused expression.

"Feedback?"

Without turning around, Xai Lin said,

"Yeah, I'm the author after all."

Reaching her wardrobe, Xai Lin shuffled through it to find a more simple outfit to wear.

Meanwhile, An Mo behind her had his eyes go round in surprise.

"Damn, my Xaixai is so amazing! I might have used up ninety percent of my luck just to meet you in his lifetime~"

An Mo showered Xai Lin with praise, his voice sounding sickly sweet and extremely coquettish.

Xai Lin was speechless upon hearing it. An Mo's tone must have gone through dozens of pitches to sound so flirtatious; it even gave her goosebumps.

"Talk properly! Who taught you how to speak like anyway; could it be from your Legacy Memories?"

"Yeah, my Legacy Memories have several of your human languages, but not how to write them. And I am talking properly! What's wrong with praising my cute and talented Dao Companion~"

Xai Lin immediately rolled her eyes. After taking out a plain white one-piece robe, she heading to the screen in the corner of the room. As she went, she muttered under her breath.

"Just how did those unreliable memories come about? Most of the Human Race has already adopted a unified language and it's the one you're using, but why add the others and even leave out how to write them?"

Xai Lin shook her head in utter incomprehension before she went behind the screen.

An Mo's senses were sharp even in his human form, so he was able to hear her words clearly. However, he didn't mind as he also agreed they were ridiculous. Instead, he reverted back to his Divine Monkey King form and plucked several strands of his hair before throwing them out.
