Chapter 6 - Chapter 21- To Kill a Son of Heaven

An Mo was still worried about Xai Lin so he carefully shifted her onto her side and examined the wound on her back. Immediately, his breath couldn't help but hitch in his throat when he saw that blood had covered her entire back and soaked her clothes.

An Mo's eyes immediately turned red, and tears couldn't help but well up in his eyes. However, he forcefully suppressed the urge to cry and went to help Xai Lin tend to her wound.

Xai Lin had already used her Spiritual Qi to stop the bleeding, but the clothes needed to be removed so the wound can heal properly.

Without much hesitation, An Mo carefully helped Xai Lin take off her black outer robes and loosen her white inner garment down to her elbows to reveal the wound.

Upon seeing her white garment that was soaked with blood, An Mo's breathing became slightly ragged, while a towering rage was slowing starting to rise from the bottom of his heart.

Sikong, who seemed to have been ignored by the two, shad a bad feeling as he stared at An Mo's back. Almost immediately the lingering regret of being unable to retrieve his treasure was swept away, and he finally decided he could no longer remain her.

The red parasol over his head released a wave of ripples that cascaded over his body, and in the next instance, he vanished from sight.

The second Sikong vanished, An Mo's cold voice rang out.

"Did I say you can leave?"

The shell inside his robes disappeared, after which, two black wings tore through his clothes and spread out. Judging by their size, they should be around five or six meters wide.

Without any warning, An Mo's figure also vanished, leaving behind a cluster of black feathers.

Xai Lin, losing An Mo support started to tilt sideways.

In the sky several hundred meters away, An Mo appeared, his wings spread wide open.

Sikong, who was invisible to the naked eye, had his pupils constricted when An Mo appeared in front of him.

An Mo showed him a mocking expression, before he swung out his hand.

Sikong couldn't even see An Mo's movements, much less react to his strike. He only felt half of his face go numb, before terrifying physical force sent him hurtling down the ground.

With a loud bang, he crashed into the ground and kicked up a cloud of dust that rose several meters into the air.

Without even looking at whether this wretched human was alive or dead, his figure vanished once again. He reappeared behind Xai Lin, who hadn't had time to fall yet, and gently held her shoulders.

An Mo looked at the wound and saw that the foreign Qi from the Top-grade sword had been expelled, and the skin was finally beginning to show signs closing. But after using his Heavenly Eyes, he could see that a few of Xai Lin's meridians in that area had been severed, along with two of her ribcages.

Even though she was calmly circulating her Spiritual Qi to heal her wound, An Mo could tell she was in pain, and he didn't want that. However, despite having four Divine Beast Bloodline, none of them gave him the ability to treat other's wounds.

Xai Lin seemed to sense An Mo's chaotic emotions. She opened her eyes and turned her head slightly to look at him.

"I said I'm fine, don't worry so much. Even if that sword had pierced my heart, I wouldn't necessarily have died. However, if it were my head, it would have been a different story."

An Mo pouted upon hearing this, he was unwilling to joke about this kind of thing.

Seeing this, Xai Lin sighed, before flipping over her hand and taking out a blue pill.

Before An Mo could examine what kind of pill this was, Xai Lin tossed it into her mouth.

An Mo paused, then using his Heavenly Dao Eyes, he saw that medicinal pill's energy flow through Xai Lin's body before converging towards her wound. He then observed in amazement as that energy quickly repaired her damaged meridian and bones.

"Such a miraculous pill! Is-Is this something from the Immortal Realm?"

While pulling on her clothes, Xai Lin turned to look at An Mo with an odd expression before responding.

"No, it's just a regular healing pill."

"Healing pill? You mean an alchemy pill? But why does it have such a heaven dying effect? It's not like this in my Legacy Memories!"

Xai Lin raised her eyebrows.

"Alchemy has advanced quite a bit compared to the past. Could it be that your Legacy Memories are outdated?"

An Mo was stunned when he heard that. But he thought for a moment and said while scratching his head.

"I don't know, it seems so."

"Hmm…"

Xai Lin pondered this notion for a bit before deciding to shelf it for now. They had more important things to deal with right now.

Xai Lin stood up and patted off the dust on her clothes before looking over at where Sikong was and softly asked.

"Did you kill him?"

While helping her brush the dirt off her back, An Mo snorted and said coldly.

"No, I didn't. But why did you tell me we should let him alive before? If not for that, I would have killed him just now."

While they were on their journey here, Xai Lin had told him her situation was not very different from his own, but she hadn't gone into detail. She only mentioned that she had sneaked into a Secret Realm and stole a bunch of treasures from the disciples before escaping to the Demonic Realm.

The replica Chaos Tower was one of those treasures, and the owner had placed some kind of imprint on it she found hard to get rid of. Because of this, they speculated together that the person seemed determined to retrieve and was likely hiding in ambush nearby.

As it turns out, they were right.

Xai Lin's pursued her lips at An Mo's question.

It was hard for her to answer this question as she couldn't very well say that this person was one of the main protagonists of this world and killing him was no different from attacking the Heavenly Dao itself. She didn't want An Mo to get entangled with these sons of heaven, as she couldn't determine how favored they were. The best way to deal with them was to steal their opportunities, preferably in disguise, and then avoid them all together.

However, this was only her second time stealing an opportunity from a main protagonist, so she still inexperienced. The first was Han Gu Wei from her Sect.

Now that this guy had seen her true appearance, she wondered if she had to kill him silence him. However, another issue with killing this guy and those like him, besides drawing the Heavenly Dao's dissatisfaction, was that they were like unkillable cockroaches.

Just when you think they were about to died, an old monster could suddenly just out to protect him, or some mysterious bloodline would be awakened between life and death.

Xai Lin didn't almost did dare to gamble, as she had seen it when Gu Wei lost the Heaven and Earth Refinement Scripture, but had still received a cultivation technique from her Ancestor with similar value.

So, if they tried to kill this guy, wouldn't that be handing him opportunities?

No forget any potential opportunities this guy might get to escape danger, she knew from the book that his guy actually has a Spear Intent Imprint from his grandfather, who was at the Soul Emergence Realm!
