The rulers of the Abyss World fled in a hurry, leaving the Abyssal Supreme Realm an empty shell with powerful beings scattered away.
However, an incredibly interesting scene unfolded in the Abyss.
The mortals who ascended within the Abyssal Ocean, the Ancient Gods, did not flee.
There were two reasons for this.
1. They couldn't move.
Most of them had just ascended from the All Heavens and Myriads of Realms as lower-realm elites, having only recently achieved the Giant God's physique, attaining the status of lower-ranked Ancient Gods, though mainly at the First Layer and Second Layer levels.
At this level, their excavation speed wasn't fast enough, making them the favorite targets of lower-realm influential figures.
These figures couldn't defeat them in battle, but they could harass and delay them by burying them alive, slowing them to a snail's pace, turning them into amber and fossils, then eventually excavating them when they died of old age.
