When Qiao Yuxian returned to the room, Gu Yanjing was making a phone call in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.
Upon hearing the sound, the coldness in his eyes disappeared, replaced by a gentle aloofness.
He looked at her reflection in the glass.
Watching as Qiao Yuxian turned from the doorway, her figure appearing in the glass, then running over to hug him from behind.
Gu Yanjing held her hand and said into the phone, "I'm hanging up now."
After speaking, he hung up and asked, "Are you sleepy?"
"Not at all," Qiao Yuxian replied, her face pressed against his back. "Not sleepy at all."
Gu Yanjing stroked her hand and said, "It was Tang He's call."
"Hmm?" Qiao Yuxian asked, "What did he say?"
"He had a confrontation with Qiu Xia," Gu Yanjing said.
"Who won?" Qiao Yuxian asked, "Hopefully Tang He wasn't beaten up."
"Qiu Xia was captured," Gu Yanjing said.
