Angela sat in the back seat beside the girls while her father drove with her aunt in the front. They were on their way back to the Malynster's villa while Renn and Stales went to meet the other alphas. She wanted to follow them, but to stop Marcus from getting suspicious, she stayed in the car, doing what she felt was right for her mate. She only hoped they would come to her later and explain what was going on, because her chest was tight with fear.
"Renn was acting weird," Marcus' voice broke through her thoughts.
Angela looked into the rear mirror and shook her head. "No way. He isn't. Did you find him weird, Hailey?"
"A little," Hailey said, raising her thumb and finger with a tiny space between them. She nodded slowly. "I know Renn. He never argues with you, but today he did. Your conversation felt off."
