What if that brute is driven too tightly and moves away directly?
That monster is really too terrifying, especially since the creature's abilities are most effective against souls. Even she finds it troublesome, particularly at certain times when she seems truly unable to match that damned monster.
The Fox Spirit thought it best not to go overboard, especially since she now has a new goal. Would she, Fox Fairy Nannan, be someone who suffers a loss? Previously, the reason for moving things from Zhang Chen's house was because they were neighbors. She was severely injured and couldn't move things over a long distance. Now that her injuries have somewhat healed, the situation naturally differs from before.
Zhang Chen looked at the pheasant and rabbit hanging on the wall. He couldn't figure out why the Fox Spirit had changed her mindset but didn't think much about it. Instead, he smilingly hung the rabbit on the wall. Whether the Fox Spirit wanted it or not, he felt he had to express this gesture. As for the pheasant hanging on the wall from the previous day, it was surprisingly still alive. Zhang Chen didn't slaughter it but instead put it in a cage to raise.
Although pheasants are not easy to raise, it's not a problem for Zhang Chen. He possesses the Dragon Qi, which can suppress all animals and also provide comfort and peace to them.
The pheasant settled obediently in the cage. Zhang Chen then quickly freshened up and lay down on the bed to sleep.
Next door
The Fox Spirit and Zhang Chen stared at each other, sitting silently before the light.
Bookish Zhang Chen wasn't reading, and the Little Fox Spirit wasn't listening to a book for once. Both of them fixated their gazes on a page of blood-red scripture throughout the night, yet nothing unusual occurred.
"Could it be that the monster was severely wounded by the Golden Light yesterday?" The Little Fox Spirit looked at the whitish window paper, knowing daylight had arrived. Then her body softened and she directly lay on the bed to sleep. Over there, the bookworm Zhang Chen, upon seeing the Little Fox's actions, could no longer hold on and collapsed onto the bed to sleep.
Next door, Zhang Chen was oblivious to it all. At dawn, the chirping of birds outside the door sounded, and after opening his eyes, Zhang Chen quickly freshened up, fed the pheasant, and then enthusiastically left the house with a basket on his back.
"The weather is so hot!" Zhang Chen stepped out of the house carrying the basket and immediately felt a wave of scorching heat, which made him quite uncomfortable.
"Why is it so hot in the morning? It's almost like noon." Zhang Chen muttered softly and then headed towards the mountains with his basket. Upon reaching the trap, he discovered an additional pheasant and rabbit within it.
Zhang Chen tied up his prey and proceeded to the underground tomb. The once exceedingly cold tomb now felt somewhat cooler.
Zhang Chen wasn't in a hurry to wrap himself in animal skins. Instead, he set the basket down and climbed to the tombstone, then his brow furrowed: "No experience points dropped?"
No experience points had dropped in front of the tombstone, and a bloody mist still flowed from it.
"Did I overexert myself yesterday?" Zhang Chen circled around the tombstone, his eyes revealing a look of inquiry.
"Something's not right!"
Suddenly, Zhang Chen stopped in his tracks, his eyes fixed on the base of the tombstone, his pupils involuntarily contracting. The entire twenty-centimeter base of the tombstone had sunk into the ground.
"How can this be! I've been excavating here for over ten days, and the tombstone has always been unshakable. How could it sink twenty centimeters in the soil overnight?" Zhang Chen realized something was amiss and stared at the subsided ground beneath the tombstone. Grabbing the nearby Luoyang Shovel, he dug down only to find the soil compacted, fully capable of bearing the weight.
After some exertion with the Luoyang Shovel, he managed to raise the tombstone base again. He patted the tombstone and remarked, "How did it sink twenty centimeters into the ground overnight?"
Zhang Chen opened his Dharma Eye and examined the tombstone, seeing countless blood-red threads entangled inside, wriggling back and forth like numerous worms, or akin to countless twisted veins and blood vessels.
He stared at the tombstone in front of him with a contemplative expression. After probing for a while without detecting anything unusual, he suddenly released a burst of Golden Light from his hand, which landed on the tombstone.

Zhang Chen struck the tombstone with the Golden Light multiple times, watching vast amounts of blood-red threads inside dissolve into nothingness, but the dropped experience points were even fewer.
"The dropped experience points are fewer than yesterday. After a night, they haven't recovered?" Zhang Chen halted his strikes and looked at the tombstone before him, eyes filled with curiosity.
"The dropped experience points have decreased a lot. Should I let it rest for a while?" Zhang Chen glanced at the tombstone, the dropped experience points dwindling to single digits, his eyes showing hesitation.
"I don't know how long it will take to recover. If it takes half a year or a year, won't it be a waste of my skill upgrade progress?" Zhang Chen muttered, looking at his own Golden Finger Interface:
[Name: Zhang Chen]
[1st Skill (Tier Two): Light of the True God (0/5000)]
[2nd Skill (Unranked): Dragon Qi (0/2000)]
[Points: 4500]
"I'm only five hundred points short; then I can upgrade, and for me, it would be a whole new world." Zhang Chen's eyes scanned the Golden Finger Interface, calculating:
"Just five hundred points; delaying further doesn't seem worthwhile!"
For him, skill enhancement is crucial. With a Fox Spirit of unknown depth living next door, he doesn't feel secure at all.
"By using the Golden Light to harm the tombstone once, the dropped experience points average around three, so attacking about one hundred fifty times, I can upgrade the first skill." Zhang Chen looked covetously at the Tier Two Light of the True God.
This temptation is too great, probably today, he can upgrade the Tier Two skill. By then, he'll advance to Tier Three, ushering in a whole new world.
"Tombstone brother, please endure a little while longer! Just bear it for one more day!"
Ultimately, the temptation to upgrade the skill was too overwhelming, even Zhang Chen couldn't suppress it. The next moment, with no hesitation, he pressed his palms against the tombstone:

The experience points keep decreasing, and eventually, the number '2' even disappeared, turning entirely into ones.
"Could it really be that I drained it dry? Who would have thought even such oddities could be exhausted!"
