The Goddess of Joy, Lierla, paused before the incarnation of her statue, turned her head, her bright eyes fixed on Duncan in front of her, and mused, "Waukeen might be in the Bottomless Abyss."
As she spoke, she observed Duncan's expression. Although she could read thoughts, she chose not to, as it would be offensive and might be noticed.
Upon hearing this, Duncan raised his head, revealing the look Lierla wanted to see—a somewhat complex emotion.
"He's still close to me," Lierla felt delighted in her heart.
Duncan wasn't overly excited, but not indifferent either. His eyes seemed to show a hint of struggle, as if unsure whether to maintain faith in Waukeen or continue serving her.
With this, she was already very satisfied.
