Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: New Skill - Gathering Dao

In the self-study class, all the students were diligently writing on the papers before them. In this era, it has become even more difficult to stand out, but for now, one can still rely on learning to carve out a future.

However, it's said that the Second Colony Star has already researched brain-machine interfaces, which can import all knowledge into the brain in seconds. If such technology becomes widespread, then there will truly be no way out.

As a key class in a key academy, the learning atmosphere in Su Tu's class was very good; no one spoke during the self-study class, only the sound of pen nibs sweeping across paper filled the room.

While everyone else was writing vigorously, Su Tu had already put his pen aside and arranged his papers.

Prompts flashed quickly before his eyes.

[Completed the college entrance exam mathematics mock test paper A, Spiritual Wisdom Proficiency +1]

[Completed the college entrance exam mathematics mock test paper B, Spiritual Wisdom Proficiency +1]

[Completed....]

After ten consecutive prompts, Su Tu accumulated a total of 10 proficiency points.

As a top student, Su Tu's grades have always been stable within the top thirty in the year. After unlocking the system, in tandem with his normal studies, he also unlocked skills.

Not skills like mathematics or physics, but a skill named Spiritual Wisdom.

Ultimately, everything he learned was a form of knowledge, and knowledge can't be considered a skill on its own. But knowledge can accumulate to enhance a person's intelligence, emotional intelligence, cognition, and the skill brought forth by this series of enhancements is Spiritual Wisdom.

Any learning of knowledge increases the proficiency of Spiritual Wisdom, which is why Spiritual Wisdom was the first skill Su Tu upgraded to the Middle Tier.

However, after reaching the Middle Tier, the proficiency increase became much slower. Previously, one paper could increase proficiency by 10 points, but now it only provides one point.

Su Tu could directly feel that his memory, comprehension ability, even intelligence quickly improved with the emergence of Spiritual Wisdom.

To give a simple example, Su Tu's ranking used to hover around 30th in his year. After unlocking Spiritual Wisdom, his grades jumped dramatically, taking first place in the whole school in the last two mock exams.

After finishing the mock questions, Su Tu's mind was filled with what Lin Feiyang told him during the day.

The more he thought about it, the more he felt his guess might be right.

This was an almost intuitive sense, a kind of inexplicable ability he gained after his Spiritual Wisdom reached the Middle Tier.

"But in this day and age, does personal strength still matter?"

"Considering the current advancements of the Federation, I have no doubt that the colonial stars are already equipped with prosthetic technology and genetic modification capabilities. No matter how much an ordinary person trains in skills or strength, it can't compare with these technologies."

"A country would never include a useless subject in the college entrance exam unless... there's something beyond my imagination behind Martial Arts Dao."

Su Tu's mind raced, and countless thoughts flashed through his mind in an instant.

The teacher on the podium noticed some students daydreaming and was about to use their famous flying pen but stopped when they saw it was Su Tu.

Do you understand the weight of being first in the year!!

Others daydream and zone out, but when our Su Tu daydreams, it's called relaxing the mind!

What, you think it's unfair? Then why don't you try getting first in the year and see how it feels!!

"I have to find Feiyang again to probe for more information. I don't know how much of the exam Martial Arts Dao accounts for. If it has a large percentage, the situation will change drastically."

The academy Su Tu wants to apply to is called Starship University, which isn't on Blue Star, but on the Third Colony Star, a planet named Celestial City Star.

As humanity entered the Interstellar Era, Blue Star, being the origin of mankind, has always been protected. All sorts of potentially dangerous experiments are conducted on the colonial stars, and policies that could cause changes are also implemented on those stars.

The world is like a hundred boats competing, not advancing is retreating.

Blue Star enjoys protection but has also become backward. It's not that the technology of the colonial stars isn't provided to Blue Star; on the contrary, once a technology stabilizes, it will be released on Blue Star first.

But the key lies in the word stability. Any development and progress come with risks. When a technology is stable enough, it only means it's already outdated.

Currently, nearly all of the top hundred universities in the world are located on colonial stars. Starship University, which Su Tu wants to attend, is a leader among them, with a shockingly high score requirement.

Originally, Su Tu had some confidence in getting into Starship University, but if Martial Arts Dao becomes part of the college entrance exam, there will definitely be changes.

It's simply due to the information barrier; when you hear a piece of news from someone else, it means that someone has already put in the effort, some have reached the end of this path, while others remain unaware of its existence.

For certain reasons, Su Tu must get into Starship Academy, so he cannot take this matter lightly.

After class, Su Tu walked out of the classroom immediately.

This caught the attention of his class teacher.

"Why does this kid seem so absent-minded; could it be he's dating early?"

"That's not okay. Early relationships can affect grades. I need to talk to him properly..."

The class teacher's worry dissipated the moment they saw Su Tu's paper.

He had scored a checkmark for every answer, with solutions to certain problems even the teacher hadn't seen before.

"Talk!!! Talk to your heart's content!!"

"If you had told me your grades were this good while dating, I'd have introduced you to my daughter!" The class teacher was truly a master of double standards.

Su Tu arrived at Lin Feiyang's office and knocked on the door.

Unexpectedly, before anyone could respond, the door was opened by his knocks.

The office was empty before him.

"Not here? Well, the PE teacher always 'sick,' if he manages even one class, it's an effort."

Su Tu sighed as he looked at the empty office, realizing he had made the trip for nothing.

He wasn't planning to enter the office. With no one around, entering uninvited could lead to explanations if anything happened.

Just as he was about to close the door, he suddenly noticed a very peculiar painting hanging on the office wall.

He curiously glanced at it, and the next moment, everything around him changed; he stood on a black mountain with bizarre rocks surrounding him.

A white striped fierce beast lay at the foot of the mountain, its eyes blood-red, crouching, its murderous aura ebbing and flowing like an endless ocean.

A large cerulean serpent coiled at the mountain's summit, its head facing skyward, seeming to absorb heaven and earth, its scales battered, and on its head, two indentations.

However, neither truly captured Su Tu's attention. He was truly interested in the two large moons painted above the firmament: one immaculate, the other... red as blood!

Su Tu, captivated by the surrounding mystery, unconsciously changed his breathing rhythm. Each breath seemed to carry a certain cadence, and his skin faintly emitted a rosy glow, casting onto his body, as though he were an immortal visitor descending from the mountains!

But soon, Su Tu felt his breathing slightly pause; his body had reached a limit, and he suddenly became clear-headed. The strange surroundings vanished without a trace, as if they had never appeared.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for learning the skill: Gathering Dao!]

[Successfully mastered a new skill, Skill Points +1]

[First completion of Gathering Dao: Gathering Dao Proficiency +10, Spiritual Wisdom Proficiency +10, Body Strengthening Proficiency +50]

The prompt messages before him flickered continuously, and Su Tu's breathing heated up accordingly.

"There really are things in this world that defy common sense!"

The presence of this painting confirmed Su Tu's suspicions that there was undoubtedly a hidden mystery behind Martial Arts Dao, and this painting was the best proof of it.

The owner of this painting needn't be further mentioned. Su Tu was certain that Martial Arts Dao would become a new subject in the college entrance exam.

After regaining clarity, Su Tu did not continue to gaze at the painting but closed the door.

Suppressing his excitement, he quickly walked away.

Accidentally discovering a treasure is luck, but to continue coveting it is theft.

Though Su Tu was not a gentleman, he was not the type to resort to petty acts.

He was now more interested in discovering what purpose the newly activated skill called 'Gathering Dao' served.

Shortly after Su Tu left, the office door opened automatically. Lin Feiyang rolled up the painting in his hand, casting a meaningful gaze down the hallway.

"After all, you are a student of mine, Lin Feiyang. Since you have some talent, I don't mind giving you a helping hand, though I wonder, Dragon Transformation, Crouching Tiger, Twin Moons, Green Peak, which visualization did you see, and how much did you grasp?"
