Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Trouble with Peach Blossoms

After sending Eleanor Spencer off, Mason Nightshade received a call and went out to discuss some business. A nurse came in to replace Aurelia Shaw's IV drip.

"Hiss!"

Aurelia suddenly felt a pain in the back of her hand, her delicate eyebrows furrowed, and her hand instinctively shrank back. Her past experiences made her particularly sensitive to needles. The sharp needle scraped her tender hand, and bright red Blood Pearl quickly seeped out, spreading into a small crimson patch, strikingly conspicuous on her pale skin.

The nurse looked impatient, "Why are you dodging? An adult like you scared of needles! Don't move around. If the needle misses, I'll have to do it again."

Aurelia slightly raised her eyes, catching a glimpse of the nurse's disdainful and mocking gaze, and smiled coldly.

She extended her hand, and as the nurse picked up the "weapon" to "commit the act" again, Aurelia's hand brushed past her and reached for the tissues on the table, gently pulling one out to leisurely wipe the Blood Pearl on her hand.

Her eyelashes drooped slightly, concealing the chill in her eyes. Her movements were unhurried, a natural cold elegance emanated from her— only possessed by noble ladies— causing a sudden chill that made one's heart tremble.

The nurse's hand, holding the needle, trembled slightly, and she lowered her head with a hint of guilt, her voice lacking confidence as she raised it, "Are you getting it or not? Stop dawdling."

Aurelia quietly looked at her hand. Her long fingers slightly spread apart, and the skin on the back of her hand was so fair that one could see each blue vein. A glaring red mark crossed the back of her hand, a thin layer of flesh exposed, with Blood Pearls constantly seeping out, like a delicate piece of artwork that has been damaged.

"Does it look good?" Aurelia put her hand in front of the nurse.

The nurse was about to administer the needle again when she paused upon hearing this.

"Do you know how much these hands are worth?" Aurelia asked again.

The nurse was stunned again, vaguely thinking of something, her face rapidly changing colors.

"Last week, I took a hand model job and insured these hands for a hundred thousand. Do you know how much a single needle prick from you costs?"

Upon hearing this, the nurse couldn't hold it in anymore and, blushing, jumped up anxiously, "What do you mean by this! Are you trying to extort me? Oh my God! Is there no justice anymore? You are the patient, I am the nurse, I gave you the IV and did it wrong? You dodged just now, that's why the needle went off course. It's not a big deal, and you're talking about making me compensate ten thousand? Are your hands made of gold to be worth so much?"

Aurelia found it both funny and exasperating.

When did she ever say she wanted compensation?

At this moment, the room was still in the emergency ward, and many people were coming and going. They turned their heads curiously to see what was happening when they heard the commotion.

The nurse took advantage of the situation and raised her voice even further, "If you don't want anyone to touch your hands, then why come to the hospital? Your hands are so precious that even an IV can't be done. Wouldn't it be safer to hide them at home in a safe? Do you think just because you have a rich sponsor, you can look down on us medical staff and falsely accuse us?"

Many bystanders naturally felt some sympathy for the nurse and, taking her words at face value, assumed that Aurelia must be the kind of mistress for a wealthy person who disdains nurses and bullies them due to her status.

The crowd started to mutter softly, accusing Aurelia.

Ha~ Another woman charmed by Mason Nightshade's looks.

In her past life, she had driven away countless flies and butterflies around Mason Nightshade, knowing that after Mason lost interest, those same flies and butterflies would come to mock her.

Being Mrs. Nightshade might seem glamorous, but only she knows the bitterness behind it.

In the past, faced with this kind of situation, she would definitely feel jealous and angry.

But now...

"Are nurses today always so good at twisting the truth but bad at doing their jobs?" Aurelia said with a cold smile.
