"What does this have to do with me?"
The woman slightly tilted her head, her beautiful eyes casually glancing at Eleanor Spencer.
Eleanor Spencer was momentarily stunned by her gaze.
"For generations, the Taylor Family has protected this country. How many died on the battlefield for it? If being a lord, the Taylor Family has nothing to be ashamed of regarding the people. As a mere woman, why should I be concerned with the affairs of the world? My brothers have all died in the struggle for the throne, my sisters were married off to Vassal States, leaving us shattered. In terms of suffering, I've had it worse than them. Why should I care about their life and death?
I am not a sage; I lack the heart of a saint to concern myself with so many lives. Don't they always describe me as 'cruel,' 'cold-hearted,' 'a witch'? I have always been this selfish."
