"SLAP!"
The crisp sound of a slap echoed through the room.
Han Xinyue's delicate body tilted to the side from the force of the blow, but she remained expressionless. Without even glancing at Zhou Chenhao, she continued to touch up her makeup in the mirror.
Seeing her eyes gradually turn red, Zhou Chenhao felt a sudden stabbing pain in his heart. "I'm sorry, Xinyue," he said hurriedly. "I didn't mean to hit you. I just..."
Han Xinyue put down the mirror and stood up, giving him a cold look. "Does it matter who that man was? Even if you knew, what could you do to him?"
"Zhou Chenhao, if you were actually capable, you would have smashed that door down earlier instead of taking your anger out on me now."
"Xinyue, I..."
Han Xinyue couldn't be bothered to look at him again. She grabbed her purse and walked straight out the door. "Forget it. There's nothing to explain to a waste of space like you."
"Zhou Chenhao, your son's eyes are safe, for now."
